The Advertising Age article is nice. Doesn't really delve deep into some aspects of the community, but that's fine. It is a positive little article.
Some of the YouTube comments under the Martha Speaks trash video are kinda funny. But yes, she can indeed sing pretty well in reality. :P
Believe you got that link slightly wrong in the Pony Genetics section, Seth. But at least it links to the correct profile on dA. lol That thing really is quite long. Maybe I'll read it later. But I can only imagine trying to sort out their genetics to make scientific sense. :P

Actually, his is a perfectly 'legal' and correct haiku (I actually have a T-shirt with that on it). Your poem there would be more like writing a haiku along the lines of:
I can't write haikus
I can never end them right
I use too many syllables on the last line all the time.
Also, I greatly enjoyed the pony genetics piece (thanks Obscuria for including the correct link!). I've been very preoccupied this last week due to things going on with my family; reading that helped give my muse a bit of a kick, which it needed, so many thanks to the author for that!

Also, if anypony who plans on going to Matsuri also has a Facebook page, I highly suggest joining https://www.facebook.com/groups/146878045402261/ The Central Florida Bronies group. It's the largest (and still growing) organized group of bronies in the region and is the best way of contacting fans who aren't yet aware of EqD.

It's funny how a TV show/news article was what tipped me over the edge into "bronyville" (only been at it seriously for 72 hours.) If anyone watches World's Dumbest over here, their Twitter feed posted an article from the WSJ. And then one night after the show, whoever was running the feed started talking ponies. At first I was like "huh?" so I delved a little further into the subject and was never able to pull out, which I think is a good thing.

Seth, if you post about WoW guilds, you should really post whether they are on EU or US realms as well. Because it gets kinda confusing.

It's shocking that Seth would actually be dumb enough to post a link to anything regarding pony genetics since it has been word of Faust since season 1 that any combination of pony parents can birth any type of pony. (Obviously excluding Alicorns)

What's dumb about it? Some people enjoy coming up with detailed explanations for fictional scenarios, and other people enjoy reading them and appreciating (and sometimes debating) the logical work that has gone into them. The purpose of this wasn't to "prove" that different types of ponies can interbreed.

It's shocking that you have just expressed your own lack of understanding of genetic theory to such a degree, that you just made every geneticist amongst us here to laugh uncontrollably at your comment, all 2 of us.
Through mixed alleles, you CAN have ponies born in a variety of breeds, with expressed breed type of the parent's not necessarily matching the parent (like how eye or hair color can very, or traits skip generations). My analysis puts Pinkie Pie at only a SINGLE allele away from being a true alicorn like Celestia (and seriously... It's just how the list ended up, it was not a guided effort... I was shocked too) AJ, Twi, and RD turn out to be pure Earth, Unicorn, and Pegasus type ponies. Rarity and Fluttershy both end up having some earth traits mixed into their natural breed, and Ironically, it's the EARTH pony genotype with balanced expression of both horn and pegasus genes that serves as the foundation genotype that allows for the trigger of a proper Alicorn, such as Celestia or Luna...
That is... at least according to theaceofspadez's theory, as well as my own expanded theory.
So in short... you are only arguing with yourself because you simply don't have an understanding of the subject matter.
I thought we left the dark ages a millennium ago. You don't need to insult Seth for posting an intriguing thought experiment that really felt good to decipher and understand and expand upon. I enjoyed the theory!
