I understand that the Joker is a big baddie, but it seems that a lot of people aren't taking Discord seriously just because he was in a show for "kids", and therefore didn't do anything too "drastic". If you really think about it, everything he did to cause chaos in the world really was dangerous to, well, the world! And he frickin messed with the mane six psychologically - I personally prefer a villain that plays with his prey instead of just going in and trying to kill them or mortally injure them.

The languages they put a cartoon in obviously depends on which countries they decide to air it in. :P The German At The Gala wasn't bad. I enjoyed listening to it anyway.

There's pretty much zero chance my channel was hit with actual takedown notices...especially considering the videos were hit not once, but twice. In two very specific groups.
That said, I'm not entirely certain how to go about specifically appealing the process, but I do not intend to let things end as they are. I dumped a LOT of effort into my captions, and I'm absolutely astounded by the response to what happened to my channel, especially considering there's plenty of others whose viewcounts dwarf mine.
What I might end up doing is uploading the eps with subs to dotsub. Incidentally, if you do a search on UniversalSubtitles for my videos, you will find all of season 2 still playable from there for some reason. Apparently Youtube cannot block sites that have already linked through to the videos, as all a "copyright removal" does is force the video to become locked private.
Watch this space for further updates. (don't watch this space, you'll hurt your eyes)

I'm getting scared with these youtube removals. I upload every episode along with all my music, so it would suck to have my whole channel go down because of it. If they do find out, hopefully they only remove the episodes and not my entire channel.
i liked to know there is MLP in germany, this helps to build a theory of anything famous is translated beyond the multi-5 languages *you know, english,spanish,italian,french and germany, europe's most important languages. And there's also a portuguese translation, but i hate i the most.

I think the German dub is so far my favorite, you can tell they have really put a lot of work into it. Of all the singing, only Rainbow Dash's fell short and that's understandable, it's the hardest part of the song to pull off and the German language doesn't lend itself well to the style needed for her lines. Overall, I would say they all did an amazing job!

I hate to say it, but you’re wrong. The german dub is simply horrible. It’s awful even! The voices are all too high pitched (very girly), they all sound almost the same and have lost a lot of charme with the dub >.<
Almost all “Language jokes” in the show are impossible to adapt to german. “Everypony, anypony, nopony” and everything else like that doesn’t even have an equivalent in german. Or like in “The staremaster” When Fluttershy wants to play “shush” and the CMC’s are telling “Me lost, me to, me three!” The joke isn’t even mentioned in german and that’s only the top of the iceberg.
There are even really big faults in the translation were the sense is completely reversed. It isn’t fun to watch the show in german at all if you know the English version :/
I have made a workmate a bronie to. He saw the first episode in English while the show was airing the first time in Germany so he took the opportunity to watch it in german after this. Tell you what? He immediately hated the german version, you get toothache from it believe me >.<
Buck it, they didn’t even _tried_ to give Applejack a slang, all of them speak “Hochdeutsch” (means the same like oxford English for you) and Fluttershy is way too loud. They even translate well known and accepted Anglicism’s like “cool” in the show that simply makes them sound weird and “not from this world”. And they didn’t made any effort to search for voice who at least remember to the original ones (when I see that private persons like BaldDumboRat on youtube could change their voices to match half of the ponies who have ever spoken in the show I can’t understand that they weren’t able to match even ONE voice of the main actors with german actors >.< )
No, they haven’t made a lot of effort to translate the show sadly :/ and I wouldn’t buy the DVD’s of the show when they don’t have an option to change the language to the original english one, even when I’m not able to understand each single word.

I think the removal of videos from Youtube are irritating, but as long as Hasbro's not the one doing it... Maybe we should get the Youtube admin to simply block all MLP:FiM copyright claims? Hasbro themselves can send a letter if they really want to, trolls can't.
I'm quite floored that Pinkie Pie is curb-stomping Chris at 92% as of this writing. And it's impressive that Discord is 0wning even the Joker. Granted, it's -only- 70%, but the Joker's more well known than whoever that Chris guy is. (Seriously, who on earth is that?)

I really really wish I had posted this last night when the evening roundup first went live, but better late than never. The Hub has used fanart in their "Naughty Or Nice?" promotion: one of Briskby's drawings of Discord is visible in the main commercial, and if you check the video clip linked to in the "more info" screen for Discord, you can get a better view of Briskby's drawing.
The Joker is far, far worse than Discord. If you doubt it, well there's that whole "Emperor Joker" story arc where he gets godlike powers. In the comic version, he EATS the entire population of China... as dim sums. In the Batman, the Brave and the Bold version, he sings a song so epic (Where's the Fun in That?) it destroys the universe. Google it. It's awesome.
Plus, he has, what, seventy years of evil and mischief under his belt, while Discord has only forty (awesome) minutes of screentime. Still impressive, for such a new character.

Please tell me that somepony noticed that they translated the names of the main six as they sang. You aren't supposed to do that when you go from one language to another. Names stay the same. It's a name confound it
Seth, you make it sound like German was some obscure language that is only spoken in some small country with a couple of hundred people. I mean, Germany alone has more than 80 million inhabitants and there are also Austria and parts of Switzerland. Plus, Germany is one of the biggest economic players in Europe.
As for the dub itself: I think a lot of my fellow German Bronies tend to overreact about this. Yeah, the English dub is definitely superior, the voices could've been better and some translations are...just stupid (Twilight adresses Celestia with "Du", which is a rather informal translations for "you", primarily used towards friends and family and not superiors or even royalty, where the translation should be "Ihr" or at least "Sie", and don't get me started on the translation for "Cutie Mark" and subsequently "Cutie Mark Crusaders") but I think they did an okay job overall...

I unno why everybody's hating on the German version. German is a harsh a language and it's very difficult to sing in German and for it to sound nice but I thought the vocals were pretty good. And if that is any indication of how good they're normal speaking voices are then I approve.
