• My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: The Friendship Express

    Another DVD has popped up on Amazon, this time rollin with the title of "Friendship Express".  There hasn't been an announcement about what exactly is on the disc, but it is released by "Shout! Factory", similar to the other FiM three pack.  I guess this is the official way we will be getting episodes.  Hopefully the 110 minutes on each one includes some special features.

    UPDATE: Looks like it's the same DVD As before with a new name due to title conflicts! Oh well.

      Not familiar with this, "Shout Factory," but having Luna as the image for this post is very fitting for the name of the people releasing it.

      At least the way episodes are going to be released for a good while. If a full DVD is ever released, it probably won't be for a long time. But we've got YouTube and downloads and everything else. So I'm content enough for the time being.

      Agreed with Octavia. My only wish is that if they make a DVD, Hasbro makes enough money from it so that MLP will never die...

      Well technically it won't, they'll simply make another generation sometime, which will replace Gen 4. No idea if that's bad or if they'll make something similar to Gen 4 as well. Who knows?

      110 minutes works out to exactly five 22 minute episodes, so alas, no special features.

      This is the same DVD that was talked about not too terribly long ago, that was up on Amazon for 10.49 to preorder, not "another" DVD. I checked my amazon wishlist because I had put that previous MLP:FIM DVD that was up for preorder in my wishlist and it's been renamed to the name of this DVD, hence.. the same DVD. I'm only stating this because I wasn't sure if that's what they meant by "another DVD". If I'm mistaken then my apologies. Lol
      I just thought I would clear things up if EQ actually did think it was a different DVD up for preorder.

      Second confirmation that it's the same DVD listing, just renamed. And the price raised too - so lucky for us who pre-ordered the first time around still get the cheaper original price!

      Yep, same DVD that was mentioned here about 10 days ago; I can confirm that because when I check the listing in the above link, Amazon informed me I'd already pre-ordered it on November 7.

      So they must've just changed the subtitle on the DVD, then? Well, I trust Shout! to bring the goods, since they've been doing a bang-up job with the MST3K sets the I like so much.

      Not necessarily. The "run time" does not include special features, only the time of the feature presentation.
