• Everfree Radio Interviews Michelle Creber

The folks over at Everfree Radio have landed an interview with Michelle Creber (The voice talent behind Applebloom, and singing voice of Sweetie Belle).  They tossed me some copy paste too! How nice of them:
Hey everyone, this is Socksy here.  We've got a special treat for you.  In our new episode, along with an episode review for Episode 8, we have an interview with Michelle Creber aka the voice of Applebloom.  Now, I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that this interview is a mountain of gold.  A mountain so high, it puts Skyrim's peaks to shame.  The dragons would need an IV loaded with insulin to live on this mountain!

Anyway, as I said, I don't want to give anything away.  I suppose you wouldn't take my word for it, though, right?

What if I told you, good reader, that she was the voice of Lucy back in the Peanuts shows?  No?  Maybe her thoughts on certain things regarding certain important parts of pony life?  Maybe a little bit curious about Season 3?  Her singing, mayhaps?

Make of that what you will, sirs and madams!  Stay tuned for even more pure gold, everyone.  Don't forget, we've also got another special treat for you all next week.  But I Pinkie Pie swore not to tell, and nobody wants the entirety of Everfree Radio's cast popping up out of a basket of sponges.
Hit up the interview at their website here, or find the embed after the break!

    1. OMG Michelle Creber!!!

The legendary voice of Applebloom and the one who sang "Hush Now Quiet Now!" as Sweetie!

    2. Hmm, interesting, Sweetie Belle's singing vice, eh? Going to have to listen to this.

    3. It starts at 33:36 in case you want to go straight to the interview.

Aww, but then they won't listen to the whole interview! And we don't want that!

I have provided handy clickable time indices in the post and in YouTube description just for that purpose.

    7. @Nash I urge everypony twice to listen to the full episode.

But seriously, who would pass up more than half an hour of Applebloom and Sweetie Belle for a few lines of summary. Besides, my blog has a narrow focus on background info about the show. There’s so much more beyond that in the interview. (You hear that everypony?)

    8. "WE'RE DOING A SONG EVERY SINGLE EPISODE NOW BASICALLY"

"YOU'RE GOING TO HEAR A LOT OF GOOD SINGING IN SEASON 3"

      Oh my goodness

    9. Really? Oh wow, that's so cool! Applebloom's voice actress is fantastic!

I wonder how Everfree Radio manages to land all the VAs while Bronyville doesn't?

    10. What a great interview, Michelle is so articulate and she really gave a lot of detail.

And I'm so grateful for the crisp audio. Her voice is booming here.

    11. @Karzahnii

you should have seen my face when she said that to us.

    12. Hm, in the episode review part Daniel Ingram (songs) is once again bein praised for Willam Anderson's work(background music) it seems. I wonder why so many people keep doing that ^^

    13. 58:26 She says one of her fav pony fansites is "Equestria". Clearly referencing EQD.

    14. She really was confident and collected during this interview, she knew exactly how to answer the questions.

I'm also going to give credit to the interviewers. They had intelligent questions to give, and though on their feet when following on from Michelle's answers thr-

A SONG ALMOST EVERY EPISODE IN SEASON 3!?

    15. @gRaF_rOTZ Yeah, this keeps happening, and it kinda pisses me off. Daniel Ingram makes some great songs, but MLP wouldn't be half as cool without William Anderson's awesome background music. He puts in so much creative effort and creates a distinctive aural texture for every character and situation. It's amazing. And what's more, he's a really cool dude personally, too.

    16. @sparkleMistakes happen, we apologise and will happily give credit where credit's due. :)

    17. @Crescendo Haha, I'm sorry about that. Wasn't meant to be targeted directly at you at all, more of a general rant. Thank you so very much for bringing us this amazing interview, by the way! I have a feeling Miss Creber is gonna go far.

it's a common mistake that has spread rather rapidly. we will be correcting it in annotations.

curious as to how the mistake started though.

      ReplyDelete
    19. @Autumn Spice I guess Daniel Ingram is just more connected with the brony community which got him known as "the music guy", and that wasn't further specified.. dunno.
And yes, it is a common mistake, just felt like I needed to point it out since I love the background music Mr Anderson makes so much :)

I adore his music too; it will be corrected and I, and the crew will watch out for it in future episodes! c:

    21. That kid seems pretty smart/clever. I wouldn't be surprised if she has a bright future indeed.

Very cute and fun to watch.

    22. Finished listening to it.

A great interview, the interviewers were great too.

Michelle absolutley blew me away with her maturity. She was an absolute pro giving really long answers and being effusive about her fellow voice actors and production staff and really being enthusiastic and into the interview. She seemed to really knew her stuff on the show which we all appreciate.

If there was one tiny nitpick it's that I would've liked the interviewers to ask Michelle to do more of Applebloom's voice. She did a little at the start. That's always what I look for in a VA interview. Have them do the voice.

we actually got three station IDs from Michelle as Applebloom, they will go up on our site c:

      Thanks!

    28. I'm still somewhat bummed that William is still not getting some of the credit he deserved; he's practically the Princess Luna of the MLP:FiM production studio.

For the Michelle Creber interview, oh my god, I died of cuteness; she sounded adorable being herself - HHHHNNNNGGGGGGG. She did a very good job representing herself and being herself.

      ReplyDelete
    29. I was blown away by Michelle in that interview. She was so mature for someone who sounded so cute. I can hear the Applebloom in her no problem.

It was a real treat getting to meet the genius behind one of my favorite character's voice. It's great that she loves the show and is in the know about quite a bit of it.

We've made an annotation in the video during that segment, and added a correction to the descriptions on all the posts we control. We do want everyone to get the credit they deserve, and we do truly appreciate everyone's work on the show.

I honestly don't know how that managed to slip by, I should have caught it myself in post-production, so I blame myself for not catching it as the last line.

I would go back and edit it and fix it, but, the cat's already out of the bag as they say, so it can't be undone.

There will _definitely_ be a correction mentioned in the next episode we release, specifically addressing this. I'll make sure of that, and once again, I apologize to everyone about this. As it was said, it is our responsibility to make sure the information we get out is correct, and it should have been caught. -EightTrack

    32. @Ryan

      You're comparing him with Luna?

...but that's kinda the inverse, since Luna is very well loved.

      ReplyDelete
    33. @EverFree Radio: You should really make a section in your next episode where you dedicate some of the time with recognizing William Anderson's works; have you checked some of the YouTuber's attempts to rip off the music from the episode, cleaning out the voices and sound effects. I'm very impressed his work really.

@Dancingmad: Whoops, kinda slip that, and didn't completely finish the saying. What I was supposed to say is, "he's practically the Princess Luna of the MLP:FiM production studio, except he's not loved". I have a big liking of background music over the years, and not too many people around me realize how it connects to many of the episodes in MLP, and many other forms of media outside MLP; especially video game music. It's more than just having a song with the lyrics, there's really something out there. I feel sad that he didn't get the recognition yet. :( Thanks for pointing that out.

      ReplyDelete
    34. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about confusing the roles of the excellent music producers for the show. Daniel Ingram tends to get the spotlight because he produces the feature songs, and they are great.

But William Anderson's "background music" has a unique genius all its own. Like all good music of its kind, it's doing its job when you don't notice it, adding an extra dimension to the scenes.

But once you DO notice his work, it's like a show within a show. His work is not supposed to stand out like Daniel's, but that's the power of his talent. Without his brilliant accents and flourishes, the show wouldn't have nearly as much impact.

I agree that, if possible, it would be great to hear more from William, because his work really is a key part of what makes the show great, and every bit as important as Daniel's ear-catching masterpieces.

      ReplyDelete
    35. I'm really dissapointed with everyone. It was an honest mistake confusing Ingram's contribution with Anderson's, they apologized, move on.

I'm mean here we have this incredible interview with one of the voice actors on the show and all everyone can talk about is the Anderson mistake like it's the crime of the century.

    36. @ponyvangelist

that's a fantastic analysis, and exactly how I feel; we just accidentally mixed the names. We all want to hear from him too!

      ReplyDelete
    37. I never knew Michelle was so young! And she's so charismatic too! I really enjoyed the interview :D
For a moment there I feared you'd go all ponyfan on her and do something embarrassing. I'm glad you proved me to be very wrong. You are doing a great job as serious interviewers and I hope you have the chance to talk to more people from the cast ^^

      Keep up the good work!

      ReplyDelete
    38. Oh my god she was not just very cute but also very nice! Or she does sound like a very nice person :) Very enjoyable indeed

      ReplyDelete
    39. This was an utterly amazing interview. Very well-thought-out, and very professional! Michelle is incredibly well-spoken. I am truly impressed! One can certainly tell she has quite a passion for her work!

I suppose it's true of any work, but I love her comment about how if someone isn't being a team player, it really brings down the whole experience. Knowing that the VAs record together (aside from Tara Strong, which can't be helped), it just makes me smile so much! To know the VAs for the CMCs and the rest of the cast are present together just makes their interaction all that much more fun. I think part of the whole magic of such excellent voice acting must that they all have so much fun together. That makes me smile so much. :)

(Sorry rambling; I'm a wee bit tired!)

Knowing that there is a song in every episode in Season 3 is just utterly amazing.

Also, regarding S3, when Michelle says "it just keeps getting better and better"...that made me happy, too! I knew the show is in good hands.

And, of course, I wish Michelle nothing but success in all her endeavors. She's a wonderful actress! I am very glad her parents are so supportive of her. :)

      ReplyDelete
    40. Oh, and I love hearing how even the VAs themselves absolutely love what the animators do with their characters. Apple Bloom is just adorable.

      ReplyDelete
    41. What an outstanding person! She's not even in her teens and yet she behaves so maturely. Definitely the best MLP interview that I've seen so far, and it's great that she personally loves the show.

    42. Curse you Blogger-The-Comment-Eater!

      Anyways:

So, the voice of Applejack/Rainbow dash played the voice of Applebloom's mother in another show...

      Fan-fic Writers, Don't do it. Seriously. Don't.

    43. In referrence to Autumn Spice's comment about the music during the episode's review, that could it tell the story without the vocals, you should check Wingbeat Pony's Youtube Channel.

He has all of season 1 in "Vocal Free" format, so you can enjoy Will Anderson's and Daniel Ingram's work to their fullest. There is a lot of interesting stuff I never noticed until I watched the episodes like that. I hope he does it for season 2. :)

    44. Hi, I would like to thank everyone for supporting my role as the underscore guy for MLP FIM. I am so amazed that you all would catch what is an understandable mistake and rally around to support me. You guys rock.
