I always suspected Octavia to be self taught, and just struggled through learning to play. Sounds like a good read, but when did Twilight become a musician? Anyways, time to read, will post review shortly.

Agreed with wackyteen, never saw this pairing before. It should be interesting though. I'll try not to let my thinking of Twilight being terrible at music get in the way. (Which was caused by those DJ Twilight videos from MysteryBen)

The story is very intriguing so far, looking forward to reading more. I could tell who the characters were simply from the lines they spoke and Twilight acted exactly as I thought she would. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Oh wow, this story is an absolute delight! It's setting the stage for future chapters rather well, on top of that. The ending lines were hilarious.

Just got through, I love it! Very good comedy (I somehow couldn't stop my grinning), Octavia has never been better.
An Octavia/Twilight fic? Color me intrigued...
I like the dialogue, at the beginning, amongst the mane five of six. Each one had their personality captured, in a single line of dialogue each, perfectly. Excellent punctuation. Haha, loved the ending, totally expected Twilight to be naive, thinking that learning to play an instrument can be done entirely by textbook. Good story so far, looking forward to the followup chapters.
Just don't give Twilight a trumpet, that's all I'm saying.
Otherwise Twilight is going overboard and Octavia will believe she's dealing with a snob.

I liked this.
The characterisations were great, especially Twilight. The ending was hilarious. Octavia is going to have her hooves full.
I like how Vinyl had a tiny part and I really want to know what happens next; If the first chapters anything to go by it will be great.

1) Sometimes when you switch character's perspective (namely the last two lines) it's hard to understand at first.

That was an amusing read. Panicky Twilight is the best kind of Twilight and poor chariot pegusus that most have been one insanely heavy book.
I'm looking forward to the next installments Octavia's got her work cut out for her but I can't wait till it get's to Twilight's turn to teach and the antics that insue.
AND this had Octavia x Vinyl. Man. Wonder what their relationship will be in THIS one? :P

On paper Twilight/Octavia seems to only pale in comparison to Vinyl/Octavia. In practice, I can't tell which one's better.
Also Scratch is in it and is done really so I'm kinda obliged to give the thumbs-up. But the entire fic is very well written; the characters feel like they should, and the premise is interesting. Looking forward to the next part!
Twilight learning music? I like where this is going.
One question with a minor spoiler though:
If Twilight turned into the book, wouldn't it be Queen of the Eggheads: An Autobiography? Or was that the joke?
Hhm... Until the action really gets going, I can only give this three stars. But I'm looking forward to more, hope this turns out to be a good read!
Ug, author really needs to identify who is speaking. I've seen better and worse writing, but having to keep reading to find out who said what every single time is annoying. Also, I noticed a lack of overall descriptions during dialogue. The conversations just zip past without giving any insight into the participants' reactions, feelings, thoughts, etc. Honestly it made things feel very rushed, as if there was no time to explain anything that was going on.
Hmm, intriguing premise, enjoyable writing style, characters all seem well written. I'm looking forward to more of this one.
Please continue. This is a fun read (and yet another thing on my reading list). I'm actually listening to Beethooven's (icwhatudidthere) 3rd right now. :p Keep it up!

Hey everypony! Thanks for the feedback- I got flooded in midterm tests over the last few weeks and then had a few family things to get done- However, Chapter 2 is in progress and should update sometime in the next week or so! After that, updates should be much more regular.

I could get used to the idea of Vinyl, Rarity, and Sweetie Belle being sisters. One DJ, one designer, and one hooligan. Of course, this raises other questions: why hasn't the rest of the family mentioned her, and why didn't Sweetie call Vinyl in for the Sisterhooves Social after the big fight with Rarity?
Perhaps some answers will come later on. In the meantime, this is going on my list of fics to keep reading.
One minor quibble: the song title would probably do better as "Pony Pokey."
