Anyway I'm looking forward to this one. It's weird to think that the real Luna(as in not Nightmare Moon) was on screen for about 2 or 3 minutes at most, even though she plays a pretty major role in the world, being the second princess and all.
Also does anyone else think the plot sounds a bit like the fanfiction "Giggling Moon"?

Some people are complaining about it destroying the Luna fanfics and the fanon image of Luna. I say those were okay during the summer while we anxiously awaited season 2, but now that it's here, I say great! I want to see what Luna's really like according to the people who are actually in charge of it.
Finally a Luna episode, now the countdown to what she is in canon.
Oh man I'm gonna miss it! I'm gonna be working at the FD all day that day. Oh well, youtube is my friend! I will hide in the bathroom with my phone for 22 minutes and watch it while the guys clean the trucks or something.

Someponies just need to realize that Luna is not their property and should try and not take fanon too seriously.
I'm a little worried though that we'll get a a group of angry ponies who thing they know how Luna 'should be' and 'should act'.... I just hope I'm wrong though and enjoy every last bit of Luna that we get like I sure know I'll be doing!

Also we should celebrate it being a Halloween Episode. I hope all the Mane 6 are there in Costume, as well as the Crusaders. Twilight Sparkle should be a Dracula-like Vampire (The joke is too obvious to refuse people). Pinkie will have something hilarious. Fluttershy will be a tree, Scootaloo will be some form of Flightless Bird and someone will be dressed up as Nightmare Moon. That's my predictions at least. I hope all the characters will be in costume for this Macabre of nights.

If anyone's more upset about new canon Luna destroying fanon Luna's image than the awesome opportunity to have 22 minutes of new material to base many, many, MANY new fanfics off of, then I think they may need to re-examine their priorities.
I for one think it'll be pretty close to what we know, but either way considering how well they handled Discord and season 2 so far, I'm okay with whatever they do. In fact, I enjoy being surprised by what they come up with; who needs more of what we already have tons of?

She has ... an issue with self-image. She wants to be accepted, but she feels everypony hates and fears her. She wants to be able to be loved by everypony and return to her original life.
She may or may not have gotten over her inferiority complex, though.

I find it likely that Luna will have to be a contrast to her sister's confident, outgoing, witty style - so she's relatively likely to be at least *something* like the bookish, retiring introvert that so many fics seem to imply. Of course, yeah, with some of the crazy curve balls we've seen already, who knows?
Also, as to the above comments about a "halloween" episode...oh if only!
