Heres how it will work:
Depending on the number of submissions, I would like to rotate a new one in every day, starting on October 15th (With banner source included in that particular day's drawfriend). The day before Halloween, I'll compile them all into a post and toss a vote on the side bar for best of the best. The winner will be spotlit on the top of the blog for the actual holiday, and a few days after.
Requirements:
There are a few requirements for the sake of consistency, primarily in size/type.
- The banners must be transparent .png files (I will probably change the background color of the blog, so using the normal EQD Blue might not be the best idea ever! Expect Black or Luna blue.)
- Required Size: 1000px by 350px (these can be scaled down if needed)
- It needs to have "Equestria" used in some way shape or form (Equestria nightmare, Equestria doom, Equestria Trixieisthebestpony, ect)
- Pinkie Pie is not allowed to maim/cook/eat Rainbow Dash
- No gore. Keep it clean
- Source (How else will people raid your Deviant art/Tumblr/ect?)
- Name
- Link to image
Submit everything to Submit@equestriadaily.com with BANNER in the subject line.
And above all, have fun with it! Our banners are rarely serious business, so ridiculousness is more than welcome.

I substitute Photoshop with GIMP and Illustrator with Inkscape, both of them are free, and run on the same basic principle and have the some of the same kinds of ups and downs their higher quality cousins do. But the actual knowledge to draw and use them is something I can't help you with, hope this at least helps some.
To everypony, I offer you a hint:
'Pinkie Pie' isn't allowed to kill 'Rainbow Dash', but no pony said anything about Meanie Pie or Pinkamena or Monochrome Dash or Rain-bail and Dash.

I never said it had to be violent. Gore implies innards and organs. Death can come from more than disembowling or dismemberment. If all death counted as gore, there wouldn't be any grimdark with deaths.

I'm not much of an artist so sadly I won't be able to participate. If I may just put an idea out there since there are so many limitations on Pinkie Pie, may I suggest my idea? Well I will either way.
Pinkie Pie having Dashy for dinner (not eating her, eat with her), both of them sitting at opposite ends of a circular wooden draped table, lit by a single red candle. Dashy could be sitting on a chair with a look of terror, as Pinkie Pie brings the food (muffins, stake, w/e) cheerily to the table. Or if you want more impact maybe tie Dashy to the chair?, Have Pinkie stare psychotically at Dashy?, Reverse the roles? Possibly sketch a less then pony like face on one of them, something dark and twisted? Oh and please do remember no gore.

Is it okay if I just hand-draw everything with my tablet? I have idea how to vector, so my submission shall retain the imperfections of my drawing ability.
Also, are light references to grimdark things such as fanfictions, tumblrs, games, etc, permitted? I'm not throwing any gore or blood in my submission, but I will be making references here and there to things that are pretty disturbing if you go and search for them.

When you keep posting a first comment it means you keep refreshing EqD every hour just to get a first comment. Hence, you have no life, it's time to stop posting and you should get out more.
