Surprise is the original design Lauren Faust had for Pinkie Pie,(originally the white pegasus with yellow hair as seen) but the show called for two of each species I guess so they clipped the wings changed the color scheme and kept the personality.

Wow, lots of comments about sauciness this go-round. Just speaking for myself, I think it's a good thing to put saucy images behind a link for at least two reasons, to be courteous to those who don't like seeing such images and to avoid giving the impression that everyone on EqD lusts after cartoon ponies.
Still, the only image I saw that I thought was saucy enough to call for a link is #24, and that one only barely. (I'll take Azure's word for it that #7 is apparently a crop of a far naughtier pic, but there's not really anything shown in the pic posted here.(1)) Anyone finding the GPS's(2) of #14 and #34 objectionable probably shouldn't be watching the show, either, since that angle is used quite frequently by the animators; and if you find any sexiness in #19 or #33, that's your own fault. The rest of the pics look sauce-free to me.
Then again, what do I know? I'm just an evangelical Christian from the rural southern US. ;)
(1) -- Personally, I wouldn't have posted #7 at all, just because, while well-drawn, it's simply an uninteresting close-up. But I know Sethisto is Trixie's slave and, as such, duty-bound to post any pic of her he comes across...

We all know that nobodies forcing anyone to be here. The fact is that EqD should be a place for ALL bronies though. Its the only site we all have. The hidden link think was a fair compromise and should be continued. We shouldn't let ourselves fall into another saucy vs. non-saucy argument when the fair compromise has been found. We all get it, some people would rather not see characters they love portrayed that way, others enjoy that kind of art. Was just saying it would be nice to have that compromise enforced.

So far as this site being for everyone, that's impossible. It has shipping stories. Some people hate shipping stories. It has shipping stories involving homosexual relationships. There are alot of bigots that don't like that sort of thing. There are gridmark, there's OC... there's LOTS OF STUFF.
I think the community OVERWHELMINGLY agrees to stay clear of R34, hardcore visual depictions of violence, and the like... but, I find it hard to believe there's a way to build a FAN community that can have both deep resonance with fans while, at the same time, accommodating every possible personal taste.
I don't think you're a bad person and I don't hate you voicing my opinion. I just like to voice my own loudly sometimes as well.

Btw concerning the shipping fics and all that, the difference between those and the drawfriend is that its completely up to the user whether or not to read those fics. When it comes the drawfriend though, you have to see whats there. Of course one could avoid the drawfriend all together, but that would be a terrible thing, to never let yourself see all the beautiful fan art put out there. This is why all the aguments tend to happen in drawfriends while anything on the fic posts is usually just mindless raging.

I too am uncomfortable with some of these, in particular #24, #14, and #34. The latter two are obvious "LOOK AT MAH ASS, DO I HAVE A SEXY BUTT, OH I AM BLUSHING" pictures and #24 . . . Seriously, a pony writhing around on a bed inviting the viewer to join her?
All are good examples of "the male gaze"--posing females like sexy dolls to titillate the viewer. That even My Little Pony is subjected to this is just sad.
Side comment, but am I the only one who was blown away by #16? They took a scetch where I couldn't even tell that it was Rarity and made it show quality material.

There's a quest in Fallout where you meet a mutant who had fused with a tree during the explosions that set the world on fire. You have a quest to go inside him and either kill him, or keep him alive to harness his ability to create plant life.

Some really good pics, but lots of shipping/suggestive/saucy. Really, I fail to see how you guys find anything remotely sexual about ponies. I love the innocence of the show, and that kind of stuff just doesn't make sense to me, and I think that's part of what gives the fandom a bad name. I really think we should keep the compromise with the link to saucy pics, that way everybrony is happy.

Oh, my, such a surprise to see some of my art posted this evening! I certainly wasn't expecting that, considering I submitted both of those pieces about a week ago. But it's quite the pleasant surprise, must say!

#1 A lovely piece; cute, funny, and very aesthetically-pleasing to boot! Twilight is so adorably flustered here. Love the attention to detail, as well!
#4 As the artist behind this picture, I feel I can criticize it as I see fit. I'm not completely unhappy with it but in my opinion something got lost in the journey from sketch to finished product... something feels slightly off to me though I'm not sure what. Overall I shall be content, though.
#6 I was vacuuming my loft one afternoon and this idea just came to me. I'm happy I acted on it. XD

I agree, I wouldn't mind being able to avoid the more suggestive images while still being able to enjoy the rest of the drawfriend. I think that placing suggestive or shippy images behind links is a good idea

As far as the Evangelion crossover on #27 goes, I think Fluttershy fits Rei better. And Rainbow Dash is more fitting for Asuka. But that's just my opinion.
