The first comic is adorable. In fact, most of these MLP comics are so heartwarming anyway.
The second comic reminds me of the fanfic posted earlier called "The Guidance and Patronage of Trixie." Sweetie Belle and Rarity were fighting and they didn't make up (at least not yet). This comic makes up for that. Daaww.
Although I've always thought of Big Mac as being smart, on account of Applejack's comments about "fancy mathematics" in the beginning.
I know it was a joke, but still, I can't help but think back to that comic where Big Mac wrote a calculus book with his "fancy mathematics" and astounded Twilight.
Aww, that first comic is really cute. Poor Big Mac just wanted a Smarty Pants doll. :( But Twilight let him hold onto hers. She's so sweet and caring like that. :)

The first one gave me a flashback to the Hogfather, Y'know with Albert looking a toy in a shop window hoping someone will buy it for him and then getting his face frozen to the window. Both very sweet scenes.
I think Big Mac is actually pretty smart. He just has a straightforward, no nonsense way of looking at things. I imagine he's as smart as Twilight, but has more practical, worldly wisdom and common sense.
