Poor Fluttershy. Did not know what she was getting into.

Tylendal said...

I remember that movie from my childhood. It was so confusing and terrifying, second only to The Brave Little Toaster for inspiring nightmares and long held mental trauma.

CTVulpin said...

#1: Poor Fluttershy... Watership Down is a pretty good book. Never saw the movie (assuming it exists)

#2: Eh... seems a bit forced really.

hansy said...

That 2nd comic is adorable. :D

Never watched watership down.…

Falkenad said...

Love Both of these. Really do like the idea of the reverse yay one though.

dw1482 said...

@Tylendal

The brave little toaster was seriously the most mentally scarring thing ever created by man. Ponies are nice safe ground.

Kyle_Katarn said...

As soon as I saw the movie title, I was all "Fluttershy! NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

Kickass movie it was, too. But with the cartoons I grew up with, I could handle it (Animals of Farthing Wood, anypony?)

Dashmaster said...

D'aww poor Flootershai D: I dunno what that movie/book's about but now I'll look into it

Conner Cogwork said...

Poor Fluttershy, never saw it coming.

...

Briiiight eyyyyyyyes, buuuuur-nin' like fire~

Filiecs said...

@Tylendal

I watched both of those, the hell are you talking about? I really remember all of Watership Down, but I loved the brave little toaster as a little kid. Along with the land before time.

I'm in my "I should have gone to bed several hours ago." phase of mean-ness... And my first thought was to show Fluttershy this pic.

Strill said...

Watership Down is a movie with anatomically correct cartoon animals who get eaten and buried alive and killed in all sorts of bloody ways.

crazyredemu said...

I bet Angle would of loved the movie.....I just spelled his name wrong didn't I?

D. Shadows said...

Poor poor Fluttershy, luckily she goes evil enchantress after this.

As for Rainbow, since when has she had the ability to perform meditation practices? She's kind of hyper but she's not nearly as bad as Pinkie but I didn't think she had the patience to do super quiet meditation.

'The Quiet Game' champion of Ponyville should not have asked Rainbow to cheer her on.

DVega said...

saw movie title, was waiting for last panel

Jelfes said...

Both of these made me lol, now I really wanna watch whatever movie that was to see why there was bunny murder and blood.

Saurian said...

Watership Down is a masterpiece of a movie, if you haven't seen it, you should take the time to look it up, it does Exist, and it is wonderful(and if you read the book or haven't already figured it out, bloody)

Wierdplatformer said...

I'm with Fluttershy on this one!

WhiteDiamonds said...

Meditating Rainbow Dash is quite possibly the best thing I have seen all day.

...Or, well, come to think of it perhaps not considering the opening gala of the film festival that I was fortunate enough to attend today (*squee!!*), though it certainly receives an honorable mention!

EonMaster said...

So bunny death = undead Fluttershy

Arise Fluttershy! Arise and shadow this world with your kindness!

David Reinold said...

I saw Pretty in Pink and flipped out for a second before remembering that I got the title for my fic from a John Hughes movie.

airinlayall said...

@CTVulpin
Believe me, the movie exists. I saw parts of it as a kid and now refuse to read the book.

The Toonfreak said...

My exact reaction to Watership Down when I accidentally rented it at the age of 4.
I know what you're going through Fluttershy....

Ah, Watership Down.
I religiously watched the TV series when I was a lad...
I still remember this one dream about entering a world of rabbits after seeing the first episode.
That show made me want a rabbit for a pet.
Too bad rabbits have such short lifespans...
I miss Wicket...

Stefan said...

And this, Fluttershy, is why you read the little reasons for the film's rating on the back of the cover... because there you would've read "For frightening sequences of violence including bloody images."

SgtGarand said...

Fluttershy's face...she needs a hug
Loved the reverse yay comic

Dusty the Royal Janitor said...

Awww... poor Fluttershy.
I saw the movie when I was like 8 and had the same reaction. Then I watched it again like ten years later and realized that it was actually a really awesome movie :)

Rohit Eligeti said...

Rainbow Dash is Hinduism! Just like me!

Rohit Eligeti said...

And Fluttershy, didn't you read the ratings onthe back of the CD? whether it's mature or safe? Maybe u shouldn't have bought it. I hate that horrible movie though I watched half, it was very disturbing!

Vanishing said...

#1 reminds me of the time I bought Plague Dogs for my sister because she's a dog person and it was only $3, without reading what the film was actually about.

She has still never forgiven me.

The Lotus Tea Dragon said...

Comic #1] Poor Fluttershy. I just want to hug her and calm her down!

Comic #2] Hilarious, and Dash's moment of Zen cinched it. LOL

mycutiemarkisagun said...

I remember Watership Down being some badass, hardcore shit.

All the world will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you.

BUT FIRST THEY MUST CATCH YOU

Woof Hooves said...

tehers a "dogs" cartoon/movie thats actualy MORE grusome than watership down from around the same time(theres atleast 2 others that are just as dark)...i forget the name...as soon as i saw watship down in the second panel i knew what had to come

Applejack85 said...

:( i feel so sorry for Fluttershy, and the reverse 'yay' was just too funny. Both comics were great!

Typhar said...

I loved Watership Down. It was one of the first real books I ever read. Then I found out about the movie. Now I really want to see it again.

D. Shadows said...

Has anyone here ever seen the movie 'WIZARDS' made in 1977.

Speaking of which... what would Twilights reaction be to watching that particular movie? I already know how Fluttershy would react to it.

@Woof Hooves I'm assuming you mean 'All Dogs go to Heaven' where they gave Charlie the cement shoes treatment. But I'm not entirely sure that's what your thinking of.

Brian said...

@D. Shadows

I saw Wizards a few months ago, trippy. I think he's talking about Plague Dogs not All Dogs Go to Heaven.

Artsie Bee said...

@mycutiemarkisagun Digger, listener, runner. Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed.

Also, as far as poor Fluttershy's mortification... Fiver, Holly, Woundwort, and the Bright Eyes sequence.

I still love Kehaar.

Funleash said...

Never saw the movie, but I read the book. It was actually one of the last books I actually enjoyed reading in high school.

The majority of the books we read can silflay hraka (c wut i did there?)

no need to thank me :D
the movie and the subject itself of the movie is pretty weird but its pretty cool movie

in my case, watership down and the giant mouse of minsk from "An american Tale" are two things that absolutly terrified me as a kid and I loved it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15t-L9lP9rU
as Jayson Thiessen said in the interview kids do love to get scared :)

IntelligencePending said...

What, its a real movie? Not just a ponified "Blackhawk Down"

Ponies in blackhawk down.
Best movie, meets best show.

Segatendo said...

@crazyredemu*sigh* The old angle and angel mistake (I use to do that as well). And yes, you did get it wrong.

David said...

Oh man, I remember a couple months back in the Animated Movie Night synchtube channels, we watched Watership Down. Same reaction.

"D'awww, bunnies! And they're so cute and beautifully drawn, it's like a storybook fairytale-HOH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL!?!"

That scene. That one scene. When they're pinned in their own den, being pressed further and further against the wall underground in that spinning, narrowing passage...I will never step foot in a cave for the rest of my life, mark my words.

James Corck said...

Woohoo! It's up!

I really hope Watership Down gets some more attention thanks to my comic strip. It's an awesome movie that deserves love, because of how hardcore and bullshit-free it is. Great stuff.

WizardWannabe said...

I love Watership Down, one of my favourite childhood films, along with Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven, An American Tail, Labyrinth and Dark Crystal.

After the first I was all :(
But after the second I was all Yay!

silentcarto said...

@CTVulpin
Watership Down is known for traumatizing an entire generation of children whose parents thought, "Hey, a nice cartoon movie with cute bunnies. I can drop off my kid and go shopping for an hour or so!"
Yyyyeah...

Altherix said...

Watership Down, "You know, for kids."

Saw that when I was a kid to, honestly glad I did but yeah, Fluttershy didn't know what hit her.

Joey the Joey said...

It would appear that Dash has found Enlightenment. Sadly, it seems it doesn't help her a bit when it comes to being quiet.

Firleycat said...

Well, she would have to watch it a some point. Better to watch it with friends then on her own. She should use that to keep Angel in line.

"Now Angel, Finish your Carrot or I will send you to Watership Down. I think you would like it there."

BlueJay Chill said...

Both comics really funny. The second one you see the punchline coming from a mile away, but it still made me laugh.

Timber said...

Somehow I saw both endings coming.

Flutterfan said...

I remember watership down...*starts sobbing*
I WAS LIKE, FIVE YEARS OLD, GOSH DARNIT!!!!
Luckily the scars have healed...but now I kinda wanna re-watch it

Hissingskullboi said...

The second comic made me go Awwwwwww and laugh at the same time! XD

Farnor said...

Second one is the funniest comic I've seen in a while

Ardashir said...

And Fluttershy gets traumatized again! Hopefully for her and her friends' sake she won't even bother with "Night of the Lepus". It might give Angel ideas...

Profesor Rod said...

Others' reaction to dead bunnies are awesome :D Poor Fluttershy XD

pmcollectorboy said...

Watership Down?! Did you NOT read the back cover, Fluttershy?

pmcollectorboy said...

Pinkie HAD to mention cupcakes.

HeroInferno said...

THAT MOVIE TRICKED ME AS A CHILD!!!

marmoki said...

All I saw was "Watership Down" and I was like, oh crap poor Fluttershy...

Jimperz said...

Watership Down. Fantastic animated movie, not for the faint of heart though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gYpLGxAetg - Part 1 of the movie for those interested!

Anyway, those reactions seem pretty spot-on. Though I imagine Applejack wouldn't be THAT heartless... If she was a carrot farmer though, yes. :P

megantron said...

Love the second one. That style is so fun.

Never saw the Watership Down movie, but I love the books. The mythology is awesome. @mycutiemarkisagun El-ahrairah is the SHIT. Just reading your comment gave me shivers.

Celestia said...

Oh not watership down the only pony to be more depressed thn I was watching that was Luna, its very good at tricking ponies into thinking it will be happy if you don't look at the cover.

Second one is good, just seems right.

jay said...

Yeah, I knew where this was going as soon as I saw "Watership Down", but like most episodes of MLP:FIM, it's not the destination, it's the journey.

And Plague Dogs is just as brutal (the book anyways, haven't gotten up the nerve to watch the movie).
