It doesn't look that much like luna to me. The colors are wrong (hair and coat shades seem off compared with each other, and too saturated), nose too long, horn spiral is too steep....
It could be plot and lighting-related stylization, and the eyes are the right color, but I just didn't think 'luna' when I saw it.
Considering the fact that Episode 3 is set to air on the 15th, and assuming Episode 4 would air a week later on the 22nd...(Which happens to be rather close to Halloween)

The pictures from 4chan is a different story entirely. I can't confirm those as being legit, and I'm not trying to. Our "mutual friend" has nothing to do with them. Instead, he has everything to do with the early episode synopsizes that are coming out. Like how we already know what episode 3 is gonna be. Judging by Seth's reaction, I would guess that this guy has been leaking information to EQ Daily for a while now. You can contrast that with how he reacts to the pictures, in that they are not able to be confirmed, even through EQ Daily's networks.

Luna is not evil. Hasbro has dumped Luna into the toy Market with 3 simultaneously released Luna toys. The standard size pony is bundled with Celestia, and is cheap. The Fashion Luna is bundled with fashion Celestia. The third Luna toy, the shine brite Luna is in that freakishly expensive $40 cardboard castle insul... I mean imitation.
All of the toys refer to her as princess Luna, and Hasbro notoriously has not produced toy villains for any of the antagonists. Even Gilda and Trixie are not manufactured. No Nightmare Moon. And 3 Lunas???

As much as I love nerdy, adorkable Luna, that probably isn't close to her canon personality. Even if she isn't evil, she will probably have a dark personality. She is the goddess of the moon and the creator of Nightmare Moon.
Here in the U.S., Halloween and New Year's Eve are really the only holidays celebrated by everyone that revolve almost totally around the night. It makes sense that the Princess of the Night would rule over Equestria's version of Halloween (I'm calling the flood of Luna/Skeleton Jack artwork right now.)
I also imagine, if it's her first one in a thousand years, she might go all out... And the modern ponies might not be prepared for the old ways of celebrating a scary night.
I have a theory that a Luna focused episode will have her being regretful and the friendship moral of the episode will be the Mane 6 trying to snap her out of her depression and get her to her original personality; a fun-loving, free spirited artist.

Think about it...it kills storytelling if you have a character that flip flops back and forth between being good and being bad. The best thing to do is either:

Guys, Lauren said in her interview that Luna, though associated with night and darkness, is good.
So she's not evil, despite her apparent penchant for hooded cloaks and diabolical grins.
Prediction: an almost-repeat of Bridle Gossip, with everyone going "ho noes, Luna is teh evilz" and her turning out not to be.
That or it could be from a dream sequence. I swear, if Manly Spike from Dog and Pony Show was a leaked Image. The whole fandom would have gone insane about it with all the speculation.

As much as I love nerdy, adorkable Luna, that probably isn't close to her canon personality. Even if she isn't evil, she will probably have a dark personality. She is the goddess of the moon and the creator of Nightmare Moon.

I Heard this is from episode 4 which is apparently a halloween episode
Here in the U.S., Halloween and New Year's Eve are really the only holidays celebrated by everyone that revolve almost totally around the night. It makes sense that the Princess of the Night would rule over Equestria's version of Halloween (I'm calling the flood of Luna/Skeleton Jack artwork right now.)
I also imagine, if it's her first one in a thousand years, she might go all out... And the modern ponies might not be prepared for the old ways of celebrating a scary night.
I have a theory that a Luna focused episode will have her being regretful and the friendship moral of the episode will be the Mane 6 trying to snap her out of her depression and get her to her original personality; a fun-loving, free spirited artist.
That would be my ideal episode.

@richfilesThis is perhaps the most cogent point I've seen in this entire discussion. If nothing else, this disproves the "evil" concept. But if it is true that she is in the/a halloween episode, I could not be any more excited!!! I mean, halloween should be her night! Prankster Princess is best Princess!
If anything, it's me being a normal Halloween celebrater, with a streak of pranks and sinister-looking costumes, then being misunderstood as evil.

I agree. Hasbro would not do something like that and then turn around and make Luna evil again.
Think about it...it kills storytelling if you have a character that flip flops back and forth between being good and being bad. The best thing to do is either:
a) Have a good character turn bad.
or
b) Have a bad character become good (Luna's case).
My guess, if that picture of Luna is real, is that it is part of a Halloween episode. In which case I'm looking forward to it.

I hope it's like a Professor Chaos thing. She tries to do evil things but ends up failing in a hilarious and adorable way. If she turns out to be really evil I'll be disappointed and confused. Mostly because how am I supposed to take little Luna seriously.
If Luna will become a bad guy, I will die, and it won't be the happy kind of death either :(
The cartoons,= for children never make the bad guys any good reasons to be bad (excuses, yes, but no reasons), so instead of getting badass Luna that tries to overthrow her brainwashing, tyrant sister we will get a Luna that will want to destroy the world because she's evil. You never know, there is still that SLIGHT possibility (0.00000000001% (yes, I made this statistic up)) that it's what we (read I) fear, and currently this possibility is TOO DAMN HIGH!
