Discord seems way too powerful to be beaten. He's definitely doing all of this for lulz. For some reason I don't think he'll be defeated tomorrow, only that he'll decide to go away after teaching Twilight a lesson/giving her another chance. He's just like Q, he wants to utterly break you, but he gives you a chance to redeem yourself first. Only then, will he relent.
Well, we'll all certainly be wondering why Discord let himself be defeated, if he is defeated. He clearly has Q-level powers, and could snap the Mane6 out of existence or throw them into space if he wanted. Was he ever REALLY imprisoned by Celestia and Luna? Perhaps he just got bored and left for awhile ...
This just makes me wonder how much more awesome Season 2 will be. Since these episodes were made back in season 1, that means they improved on their technique since then. And since I enjoyed the Discord episode (soon to be episodes) and rewatched it about six times because it was so awesome, I can only imagine how much better Season 2 will be. (And someday season 3)
