I was all uuuuhg another rainbow looses her wings fic.... And then this happened.
I didn't like it.
The writing was fine, and the premise isn't bad, but I think it was executed poorly. It was going all right at first, but then Celestia comes into the scene and it's like, "We must erase their memories!!"
"Yes! . . . Why do we have to do that again?"
"Just because."
It does not follow, it does not make sense. Why would this even need to be a secret???
The ending isn't too bad because it seems Pinkie Pie (not surprisingly) remembers. I still can't make any sense of it as a one-shot though.

Random stories don't need to be sensible perhaps, such as Skittles, Five Minutes or Mine! Little Pony, but they need to follow an internal logic in their progression--one thing needs to follow from another. Celestia/RD/Fluttershy doing what they did to keep a secret kind of makes sense. It's that they did what they did to keep a secret about wings that breaks my suspension of disbelief.
I wonder when the next time is going to be that I make a random joke/suggestion in the IRC chat and someone goes ahead and turns it into something brilliant.

Before I begin, let me stress that I really, really like your other story, Order-Naries. All three parts are simply great.
But this story is complete horse apples! Why? Because it doesnt make any goshdarn sense, and it does so in the bad kind of way! I wanted a reason for this wing-thing being kept a secret, however ludicrous! Any reason! Either one that kind of makes a weird kind of sense, or one that is so absurd that I almost wet myself from laughing (or just absurd enough to be funny at all), or heck, even just any goshdarn reason at all! And I wanted a reason why pegasi are like that at all. Any reason would do!
This story... feels unfinished. I haaaate stories that the author says are finished, yet feel incomplete.
Hate. Them.
The writing is pretty good, as it is in Order-Naries, and it was pretty entertaining before that whole ridiculous amnesia scheme, but seriously, what the hay?!

What I think? I have no freaking idea, there are like a million possibilities!
Okay, that may be a mild exaggeration...
The problem is that I can only make wild guesses, and guesses aren't enough.
But since you asked, here's my wild guess:
There is really only one race of ponies, which are the earth ponies. Pegasi and unicorns are artificially enhanced with wings or horns respectively. Maybe even the princesses are just earth ponies that have both a horn and wings and having both makes you immortal, tall and immensely powerful. It's kept a secret so the lowly earth ponies cannot ever taste the freedom of flight, or the power of magic. And so nopony ever gets both and becomes a possible threat to the princesses.
I don't like this interpretation, but it's the only one that came to mind and, unfortunately, it makes sense.

Okay, just read this...and it's hilarious! And brilliant! Ever since Applejack and Applebloom have demonstrated that their tails can serve as a "fifth limb" (see the episodes "Sisterhooves Social" and "Cutie Pox", respectively), I knew that there was something about those tails...
