It's that the only developed characters are females, therefore the shipping will be with females.

And that there is nothing that says otherwise, nor will there be anything that ever says otherwise (Rarity perhaps being the exception), so its basically fair game anyways.
Rainbowdash has been shown as both Straight and gay, it is just easier to make her gay to match with characters in the show. Most shipping fandoms rely on 2 pre existing characters and with so few male characters, Rainbowdash and other ponies will be lesbian. I personally don't think she would be gay normally, but I imagine her character would fall in love with whoever she was similar to. If there was a pony similar to Rainbowdash, enough so for them to become close friends, I could see Rainbowdash falling in love with him/her.
Also how is this story? It seems promising but it seems a little heavy in the shipping department. I don't want this to end with Rainbowdash and Fluttershy falling in love and wanting to be together. I just want them to be friends, they can have feelings for each other but I don't anything too much. Anyone think I'd care for this?

The story is very good. It's a bit generic as far as shipping goes but it's presented very well and the main issue that causes the ship to happen is very prominent, and it shows lots of sides of both character's personalities we don't see much.

... People would still write lots of homosexual shipping if some were established as heterosexual (bisexual curiosity, anypony?). It's the only way I can justify Flutterrare in my mind. It's also just how the internet works.
I've come to the conclusion that when writing fan fiction, every Pegasi has wings made of paper, because they wreck their shit all the time - especially if they are the protagonist
I have never seen fanfic about FS losing her ability to fly. Just saying.
It's pretty silly the wingjuries Dash gets constantly. I mean look how often she crashes in the show. Pegasi can interact with lightning for Celestia's sake.
I like this ship a lot, although not as much as pinkie/dash or anything with Twilight in it. Still, I like flutterdash and this one is presented well.
Someday, I'm gonna write a Dash-gets-injured-and-can't-fly fic where her wings are fine but she hits her head and loses advanced motor functions for awhile. It'll be sweet.

Oh, I know that. But I'm just saying for all of the cast (and Dash in particular, since she seems to be the most controversial one) that neither interpretation of their sexuality is any more or less valid than the other, so we might as well not bitch about it.
I mean, as an example, I don't like les Fluttershy or Rarity, but I don't think that justifies bitching about it.
Of course, The Internet, so I recognize how futile that is, but I can try.

Hey, at the speed of sound you could break almost anything! :P
Plus, wings have to be light to be able to lift something, resulting in them being delicate.
However, Dash really should be more careful by now. How many times has she broken something now?
Definitely not one of my favorite pairings. I prefer Dash being with either AJ or Twilight. And Fluttershy being with Rarity or Pinkie. But this is a pretty good story.
This was pretty good. There were some minor grammar problems here and there (mostly in the first two chapters), there was some stuff that I found to be pretty odd (wouldn't the Mane Six already know who Angel was?) and Chapter 3 seemed to drag a bit, but it all came together quite nicely and Dash got some nice character development at just the right time.
I'd give it 4/5.

Is it weird that I'm equally ok with Dash/bolts as I am with Dash Fluttershy? Now, to give reading this a shot.

5/5 would pony again. Aside from the odd grammar mistakes here and there, this was well written. Was pleasantly surprised to find it longer than anticipated. More please!

Well done, I enjoyed the internal thought process that dash had. I've been reading too many grimdark lately and needed something happy, this did the trick!
Was a pretty work, but not anything especially mentionable.
It's a good simple story. It doesn't do much, but what it does do, it does it so well. No epic sweeping story arcs or convoluted plot construction, no encyclopedia of characters you have to keep track of, just a straightforward tale between two very different personalities coming together.
I did trip up on some parts with syntax, spelling, and tense errors. It can still use a bit of work (nothing a little once-over won't iron out).
But seriously, after spending the last couple days on Fallout: Equestria and Project Horizons, I'm glad to put down my defenses for a story and let something "shamelessly feel-good" seep into the soul for an evening...

I have to wonder. The whole thing just seemed so familiar. Was it posted to FF.net a while back, or is everything just SO cliched that it just seems so 'been there done that'?
It's not bad, per se, but really about as generic as it gets.

And for those who keep on thinking RD is a lesbian because she's tomboyish I have this to say, with the exception of Rarity all the main characters are pretty androgenous when it comes sexuality, if anything dash is bi, because if she was 100% lesbian I doubt she would stalk the Wonderbolts with such tenacity in the Best night Ever
People aren't saying "Oh, that person wrote a story about Dash's wings breaking. Imma do that, too." It's that that concept can go so many ways. Don't look at that part only and thing 1/5. Remember when Twilight did that to Super Naturals? lol. I recommend this one 100%
Well, the way I see it rainbow is portrayed as a lesbian by the creators because, cmon she is a damn rainbow (gay pride flag). However the creators are staying away from this because one: it's a kids show (an AWSOME one) and two: the republicans would rail against them and will have the hub stop showing mlp using their influence and money, or they will have Faust killed. Hey, when you have the ruling elite on your side you can do anything you want.
How come chapter 3 is not the end?

once again someone was able to capture my attention in a novel based on love (especially lesbian parts, i dont like the other way around). ive never read these type of stories in till the day i found this website so congratz to you.
i hate to admit, the story was as great as i expected it to be. not that much imagery on the places where dash was at but you impressed me with the imagery (not of places were dash was but of what she was interracting with like the sun and the kissing with fluttershy) and the use of the senses. i loved how you described fluttershy's scent. when i think about it, never really have thought about her smell, but your description of it couldnt have been any better. "...It was sweet, like cookies, with just the slightest hint of oak and spice underneath."

5/5, love the dynamics of Fluttershy caring for an antsy Dash and the way feelings are slowly realized and expressed. The fact that they make a cute pegasi couple only makes this better. :)
