This i'll have to read. Non depressing/sad CMC tend to be fairly rare.

I was just thinking "I want to read a CMC story" then boom, here it is.

This was adorable. The CMC's were mischievous without being annoying.

There are times when a story wouldn't work as well if it was reformatted as a comic. This is one of those.

And once you get to the last few sections, you'll understand why.

I actually liked this, despite the fact I tend to half-like, half-despise the CMC. I thought they would've asked Celestia about how mark, too. A sequel would be lovely.

Scootaloo's cutie mark is essentially a Michael Bay movie.

This was a cute and fun story that makes me want to see the CMC more. Maybe, they'll get their cutie marks near the end of season 2. Here's hoping!

Its a great story it and like someone else said it "feels like this will be on a soon the be episode" :)

I'm glad y'all liked it so far =D

@Trollestia I agree. Far too many CMC fics, and fics in general of late, have been depressing, sad, or just full of angst. So I decided to write a truely [normal] CMC fic.

@Streek471 You and me both.

@Anon1, I really tried to bring across their fumbling w/o letting them get on the reader's nerves

@BlankFlankBrony THREE HATS!

@shibboleth Glad I could be on the good half. As for Celestia, I think they are too over-awed to do that. The only reason they asked Luna is implied in the fic.

@Shannon ikr. Scoots just wants to be awesome.

@Wierdplatformer. "makes me want to see the CMC more" This is the nicest thing I've ever heard!

@Anon2 Thanks! [normal] to me means "episodic"

Awww, that was such a sweet story!!!

Such a shame that wonderful cute one-shots like this don't seem to get more notice.

@Melodia
I know, right? Seems ponies don't even bother to read anything that isn't 30000 words these days.

Bumped from the front page with 43 ratings. I hope I have more by the time I get home. If this fades into obscurity w/o even getting to tripled I will be a sad pony indeed. Hell, a picture of Pinkie with nothing else got how many ratings?

I have had over 1300 views on DA. I guess ponies ain't leaving ratings on EQD.

Woooo! Have you been spying on the writers of the show or something? This sounds like it could actually be a REAL EPISODE of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic!

This comment makes me happy! As you can tell, I want season 2 bad enough to attempt writing it myself!

This was very well done. It's short and complete. Which is great for those of us that don't have the time for the longer ones and it's the CMC! I've never understood why some don't like them. I always found them adorable and hilarious. Two qualities that you've written into your story quite well. I also love how you did the transitions into their imaginations. I too believe this story could easily be an actual episode.

Now all we need is a story where Scootaloo saves the world and that guitar from her imagination is her weapon/tool.

She'd raise a hoof high. Lightning would strike and her mighty axe would appear. Initially it would just shoot lightning and emit sound waves that deflect attacks. However, later on as Scootaloo learns new licks and riffs it would gain new abilities. Then it could alter the landscape, manipulate time, turn water into wine, and call down a colossal storm of nuclear hellfire that would forever vanquish the enemies of rock!!!

...oops...sorry, I got carried away...

Great story...

@Cat Eats Dog

Thanks! I love hearing stuff like this. It makes me want to write more CMC stuff.

You should totally write up your idea and see where it goes. Don't be afraid to be totally outrageous. It worked for Elements of Awesomery.

Stryke said...

That was ace, especially Scootaloo's gratuitous Rock'n'roll fantasy and the bath based naval warfare.

Kits said...

@Stryke

Thanks! I always imagined they had to have a little bit of something from imagination land going to do the stuff they did. Plus, all kids daydream. Well I did.

Anyway, thanks for commenting!

This was really well-done. You captured the CMC pretty well, I think. Apple Bloom noir scene ensures this gets 5 stars.

@A Terrible Person

I'm glad you liked it! I was hoping I pulled it off right. My test-readers had mixed feelings on it.

Other than a few grammatical slip-ups, this was quite enjoyable. Nicely done!
