EDIT: This has been confirmed by the original uploader in the comments to be a new Hub commercial aired this morning. If anyone has a higher quality link I'll throw it up.
And by small, I mean really small. That frame up there is part of only one of two shots in this commercial that feature the ponies, the other one being Celestia. The IRC guys can't identify the source of this video. Anyone got any clues? It's definitely new animation.

Hey, we all went nuts over two still frames (that also gave no new information) a few weeks ago - this has Celestia looking badass and it moves!
First time I saw this, I was thinking "Oh sweet, they referenced 20% cooler." Then I saw it again and I realized I didn't recognize either of those scenes. Shrugged off since I don't know every single scene by heart. THen I saw this on EqD and squeled like a little girl. Seriously, the Twilight Sparkle scene could mean anything, but the Celestia one just screems badass moment. God we need season 2 NOW!

If you go frame by frame you can see some of the room where Twilight is standing before the background is replaced by a big orange glow. Judging by the little bit you can see, she's in her library, at night.
The part with Celestia has me really excited. I'm really hoping for an episode with a bigger part for her (and, dare I say, Luna) than we've seen in season 1.

Lets see, we now know that at one point, Twilight reads a book, and that Celestia is serious.
From this we can extrapolate that Twilight is studying become a rebel against Celestia's rule, possibly for the New Lunar Republic. Spike is her accomplice (obviously), but Rainbow Dash is the only other pony of the Mane 6 to join her. Celestia, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie, and Fluttershy have to stop Twilight before she destroys Equestria. This is the overreaching plot for the season.
Along the way, Pinkie Pie sing various songs about crushing rebellion and hostage situations. There is an episode where Twilight and Rainbow go stir crazy living in a tent, and Spike has to get them to work together again, for the good of the cause.
Instead of writing letters to Princess Celestia, Twilight writes manifestos about the corruption of power in the nobility of Equestria. There is a minor plot point near the end of the season where it turns out Fluttershy was a spy for Twilight all along. The season finishes with a cliffhanger halfway through a battle between the two sides.
The new clips are intriguing, but I'm more happy/amused by the "20% cooler" label on the pony part. Obviously whoever makes the Hub commercials is watching or following the show, which makes me happy!

Well lets see. Season 1 left the cast in Canterlot. Maybe, after their meetup at Pony Joe's they all went to the castle, where Celestia gives them some serious stuff... Because I just don't see how can season 2 just start without an epic adventure. And of course Luna, MORE LUNA.
To me, it looks like during the Celestia scene she would be saying, "Girls, it's time I showed you something..." while see opened some secret vault.

Serious business for Celestia.
Looks like there are going to be a couple of badass moments in S2, can't wait to see how they pull it off without alienating the primary demographic (girls between ages 5 to like 11).
So, by what we've seen in this video, it looks like Celestia is going to get much more airtime and cameos than in season 1. Chances are Luna will be involved in the episodes Celly appears in. There also appears to be more cool moments using background changes and effects similar to the mane six vowing to make their night at the gala the best night ever (with the cool six-pony hexagon thing mid episode), or Twilight wielding that giant pill in "Bird in the hoof". What I'm trying to say is this: There appears to be more effects, possibly to the point of it being 'effects porn'. Hardly a bad thing, because it adds to the cartoon style, and it shows that the animators are expanding their techniques and improving upon the style.
Should also note the advert saying "This Fall" at the end. In my perspective, Fall occurs in September, but I highly doubt we'll get ponies until late September at the earliest, I doubt the animators will have enough episodes done for S2 to start as soon as the leaves turn.
TL;DR:
The following is speculated:
-Much more Celly than in S1
-High probability of Luna appearing in more than one episode (or at least one big role in an episode)
-More badassery (more adenture-style episodes?)
-Effects porn (not a bad thing, proof of animators getting acquainted with the show's style)
-Coming in the Fall (Late September being the EARLIEST in my opinion)

I checked the Celly bit in the Youtube vid. The four ponies are closing their eyes due to a gust of wind (the manes are blowing about). Celly clearly knows what's behind this door, whether it be Trollestia striking again, or something really awesome (like the resting place for the Elements of Harmony necklaces when the Mane 6 are not using them, complete with laser defenses and automated turrets).

I think the fact that Twilight isn't in that scene with the four and Celestia is kind of major, since I doubt she'd be away from Celestia while everybody else is with her without a good reason.

Intriguing... from the way the four are shielding their eyes, it doesn't look like anything horrific is behind the door. Likewise, I doubt there's a person... I figure it's likely leading to some sort of 'arc of the covenant' type thing that Celestia is taking out because things just got real.
The absence of Rainbow doesn't necessarily mean anything, but Twilight not being there DOES. Obviously, she's involved somehow because otherwise there's no reason she wouldn't accompany the rest to whatever they're going to.
If being a Sonic fan for many years now has shown me, you should never overhype. It just builds your expectations so high that, no matter how good the thing your waiting for really is, you'll most likely be left upset, even a little.
Yes, season 2 will most likely be awesome, and I'm excited about it, but I'm gonna wait to see the first episode of the season before I start screaming about how it's the best thing evar.

Scene 2: After the horrible disaster caused by the previous scene, Luna is trying to help Twi undo her mistake while AJ, Rarity, Pinky and Fluttershy keep Celestia distracted so she doesn't find out. Failing, they cringe as Celestia walks in to the library to find...
Twilight or Rainbow Dash could be standing behind Celestia in that shot...though they wouldn't be able to see what's through the door very well, and I don't think there's enough space for both to be there.
As far as I can remember, we haven't seen Celestia around any of the mane 6 without Twilight around too. If she's not present, I'm even more intrigued.

The Twilight shot is similar to before her forcing Philomena to take the pill. The mane six suiting up in Dragonshy, any interpretation beyond that is silly.
On the Celestia opening the door scene, she does look serious but that's about it. On missing Rainbow and Twilight, there's plenty of room for them behind Celestia. Although granted, it would be odd placement, such a short snip to really gather anything.
On speculation, the room the door leads to is dark, the animation is of light pouring into the room. So, this may indeed be the return of Luna episode. I'd expect her being princess of the night her living quarters being dark. Or the obvious, she sleeps during the day and is awake during the night.
I've said it before, I really hope they come up with a very good explanation to her absence in season 1 that makes sense. Could be Celestia's serious look is more she's dragging Luna out of her dark room to go with the mane six to make some friends.
Or, they're just opening a room that has been closed for a very long time and it has nothing to do with Luna.
Yeah, not much pony in the commercial really. But you don't want all the fun mystery of Season two ruined before it's time, do you? I didn't think so. Good ponies. ;)

You may not like most of it's programming, but surely you can agree that their behavior has been nothing short of impeccable. They've let us watch on YouTube, proved not to be deaf to the periphery demographic and has done a number of awesome shout outs (There's A Pony For That ad and Equestria Girls).
The Hub is probably the nicest channel I've ever seen. Somewhat befitting for the primary source of ponies.
Season 2 will air on September 21 at the earliest and December 20 at the latest.

Celestia is mad with Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie accompanying her into some chamber that was a bit too bright for the heroes behind her I guess and is looking pretty ticked off.

I can confirm I just saw this commercial on The Hub.
Celestia is mad at something AND is escorted by Rarity, Appljack and Pinkie Pie* (not that I was implying those 3 were what Celestia was mad at!) to something perhaps to maybe get Luna to stop being such a shut-in! XD
Piecing together what little we have gotten info wise and how they need to explain Luna's whole absence during the whole first season after she was rescued, I'd say it's probably the theme of that episode!
And what better 3 to try and convince the young princess then someone who's so generous, honest and fun! Well, Celestia couldn't find one pony with all those qualities so ended up getting the best of each! XD
