Mane Six Android Boot Animations
Desigos has sent us some Android boot animations from the Desktop Ponies app!
If you have a super-awesome Android phone, this set is for you. Well, actually, even if you have a mid-range Android phone, this is also for you. Actually, it's for all Android phones. Your device just has to be rooted. Keep in mind that doing so will void your warranty and possibly brick your phone if you do it incorrectly, since you're essentially granting yourself root privileges on the operating system (since Android is, indeed, Unix-based). There are plenty of guides for how to do this, and most of them are hardware-specific, so a trip to Google is in order.
You can find the gallery of these ponies here.

Great job making me wish i had an android phone. heh.
Coolz
damn why does it have to be for rooted phones ;;
Goodbye honeycomb animation, hello Twilight Sparkle!
Cool, but i made my own, coz i haven't got Android Phone, works fine for 240x320 Sonys. ^^

Now all I need is to make an iPhone version to replace the UT logo I currently have.
Yay~ Rainbow Dash is gonna be booting up my phone!
Let's not forget http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYd70iEnI-A
Also, Android is Linux based which is Unix LIKE.
However Unix != Linux.
(being a snot because I'm a Solaris admin)
i love the twilight one... teleport in and then strut till its booted :D
Awesome! I have been using the Pinkie Pie one on my PC for two months now :)
I'm using the Pinkie Pie bootanimation on my Rooted Android right now along with a Pinkie Pie Boot Screen I made myself :D
@stephastated Rooting your phone is an easy feat! And androot makes it all complete!
sigh..stupid windows htc
Unfortunately I'm not willing to root my phone :c
I wish these could be used on non-rooted phones though, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Looks fricken sweet!!! Sadly, I have an iPhone and..... Yeh, its hard to tell if the thing turned on or not, not omly is it difficult because of my damn comstruction-workers-use/need-this casing for it........
Buuut you lucky android ponies :3
"If you have a super-awesome Android phone, this set is for you."
FUCKING HTC WILDFIRE! IT SUCKS BIG HORSE DICK!
@Wombatish
According to some dude on one of the picture's deviantArt pages, it is in fact possible to change the boot animation without rooting the phone.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own an Android phone and cannot verify these instructions in any way.
@D4SHTH3R4INB0W
I'm pretty certain you can change the boot animation on that phone.
Damn, there's a distinct lack of ponies for us iOS users. I would love to have one of these on my iPod
Need... to buy... an... android phone.
Can anypony tell me if it would work with AT&T Backflip?
These are really cool. If only I had a "super-awesome" Android phone. lol
CORRECTION:
Android is Linux based, not Unix
BTW, here's the Fluttershy bootanimation on my Epic 4G, I had to use my old crap phone to film it though... still pretty sick none the less

Damn it, I have an iPhone 4

ITS A UNIX SYSTEM! I KNOW THIS!
(Android is actually Linux-based.)
Also, chance to brick my new Samsung Galaxy S 2? ANYTHING FOR PONIES YES!
2nd thing today that made me want an Android. The other one was that Ponyville game in development. Why, smartphones, why?
OKay, these ones are good enough to put on my ipod. To Google, away!
This makes me want an Android.
@bersl2
Hmmmm, thank you kind sir. I'll see how risky it looks (main reason I don't want to root is I still have warranty) c:
Getting rid of my annoying Sprint4G blocks (assuming that's what it would replace) would be awesome, though.
@tom10320
I'm working on it as we speak.
I am definitely replacing my boot screen with Fluttershy.
And rooting an Android isn't a big issue. It's an easy enough task to unroot it and put it back to stock.
