I'd just like to say I'm sorry for what happened on your facebook page. For me and whoever else got involved. It's not like everypony started mindlessly spamming rule 34 or anything(in fact almost everypony made an attempt to stop people posting rule 34, at least we can say that...), and there actually was some sort of structure to our conversation, but I think almost all of us got carried away, especially towards the end. Definetely especially towards the end, I think pretty much all of us got kind of crazy towards the end... Before that I think there was just way to many ponies there, but near the end I think most of us were to blame... It was never intentional, and we were just anxious, but it still got crazy. So, obviously there was just a little unpleasantness tonight in regards to the – Very generous, I must say – Release of a previously unheard MLP: Friendship is Magic song.
First of all, I would just like to say that I liked the song a lot. It was short, sweet and just generally very fun – Rather disappointed that it didn’t make it into an episode, which I would infer to be Dragonshy; given both the name and content of the song.
It seems that the release of this song got a lot of other people excited, too: Following the announcement on both your Facebook page and Equestria Daily, a number of people seemed to be unable to contain their anticipation for the song, and in a stunning display of rationality and sensibility, spammed your page with a number of images of varying subject matter that all shared the common trait of being acceptable in the context of Facebook, My Little Pony and society in general.
As such, on behalf of those of us Bronies who are not misanthropic killjoys, I would just like to apologize for the behaviour of that vocal minority tonight, regardless of how many may actually have been involved in the act of posting said images.
Furthermore, I would like to apologize for those who, upon release of the song, expressed passionately-worded statements of frustration and disappointment in regards to the length of the song. Having obviously not heard of neither idiom ‘quality over quantity’ nor ‘do not bite the hand that feeds you’, the reactions of this, again, minority group are somewhat atypical of the modern digital era – After all, there are clearly only two states of cultural judgment: Something is either the worst thing ever and if you like it you are simultaneously autistic and a homosexual, or something is the best thing ever and if you don’t like it, again, you are simultaneously autistic and a homosexual. That was a very interesting take of the song. Even though I like it, I can see why the finalized version (episode one) was made: the former is slow-paced, while the latter is more fast-paced and captures Pinkie Pie's wild-hyperactive energy very well.
When I first heard this unreleased song for Season 1, I didn't want to set my expectations high because I wanted to have it the lowest as possible and keep myself open-minded. Even then, some of our wild pony fans went nuts over it and overtook the stuff and blew it out of pieces, compared to the Season 2 photo teasers that is all for good fun. As everyone should be aware, every fandom has it's ups and downs.
Thank you Daniel Ingram for sharing nevertheless. I hope that some of the people have demonstrated won't detract you from interacting with the fans of the show. All of us are not like that to be honest.

A new old song. It's nice. I always thought Hop Skip Jump felt like it was part of a longer song. I can guess why they cut it down. When "Dragonshy" was being story boarded they realized that it was running long and looked for something that could be trimmed down or cut out. In such instances songs are often the first to get the ax, unless it is vitally integral to the plot.

That was a much cuter version but I can see why it was cut out, due to the pacing of the episode and time contraints it would have thrown the mood off a bit too much if it went on that cheerily and long as it did. Not to say it wouldn't have been great to have it!
I think, I don't know, but I was expecting something a bit more epic (with all the hype over the 'extended' intro) I figured we were going to be blessed with a FULL version of the shortened MLP:FiM intro song. After reading about them wanting to put that into a future soundtrack, bought time they consider releasing one officially!, I can see and appreciate more original Dragonshy Hop, Skip and Jump song more knowing poor ingram could have maybe gotten in trouble for releasing it to the public without knowing.
Still, staying up so late was the individuals choice and in no way did D.I. want you to wait up on his special release like that. You all expected too much for something HE THOUGHT WOULD HAVE TAKEN MUCH LONGER TO ACHIEVE! In a way, like how they do that The Evolution of a Scene, it would have been great if D.I. maybe could of continued doing that but with Songs, and I thought Hop'Skip and Jump was a great way to start such a thing imo. A small event he made with a small reward nontheless and you people end up making a mess... I do hope Daniel Ingram shares more of these tidbit in changes to songs that was left out of Season 1. Only wish I could of asked him on his Facebook before it got so chaotic...

Jeez this is like a super ear worm. I keep going back to this page and listening to it again and again. Even though this version wouldn't have fit in the episode, it's waaaay more catchy.
