I'm not really surprised. Hub/Hasbro has taken note of us and has already given us a bunch of praise. so it's not surprising they'd put something subtle like that in this vid.

Lauren Faust has already explained this.
If the major toy chains tell Hasbro they won't purchase as many WHITE toys as they would PINK toys, then that's that. Since the toy chains are where Hasbro's money is, they have incentive to produce what's most profitable.
It's sad, but hopefully Hasbro will be able to negotiate something better soon.

It's feasible they'll release a white Celestia, maybe in a pony pack or something. Pink and obnoxious things attract little girls' attention. The talking Celestia was pretty painful, but it'd sell more to their target audience than a show accurate one.

Whomever is doing the marketing over at the Hub deserves a raise, a promotion, and a helluva big hug. Fan recognition is so damn rare these days from major studios and corporations, so to see something like this is just.. jaw-droppingly amazing.
Hasbro should have an online store, that sells toys that you can only get at the online store IE. a White Celestia toy w/o a talking feature, plushes, and bigger plastic toys w/o the girly hair, just like some pony action figures!!!!! Also they should sell merchandise such as shoes for adults, and what not. Hasbro really has a nice fanbase for this show, and they can benefit from it much more if they take advantage of it!

Also, I'd like to point out that the animation of Twilight's hoof clearly demonstrates a deep collaboration between the animators and PR of the show. If we could only get them to share notes with the Hasbro toy marketing team, we might have a shot at better products.

Well, I don't know about that. There's only three hoof vectors used, and the animation is pretty basic. Seems like something any trained animator on the marketing team could do.
Not to dig at the ad, of course. It really doesn't NEED anything more than basic animation. It's just a hoof pressing buttons and sliding things. :P

Now consider the flip side here: being an ad on the Hub, a channel (with so many other shows) whose demographic remains kid-targeted. Trying to put myself back into my own little Keds and imagining seeing this? I think I'd be thinking: "Wow, the Hub is so cool!"
So I think it works wonderfully because of its universal appeal. Kids like feeling hip and "in" too, after all. :) And these days, a lot of kids would catch on to many of the memes flashing by in the ad, I bet!

Au contraire! Those of us who are WoW-playing bronies have an extraordinary calling: spread Love and Tolerance to the troll-infested, epeen(GS)-worshipping, BG-PUG-flaming cesspit that WoW... can sometimes be. (Of course it's still a great social game most times, at least on my server. :)
I think it's especially challenging in the competitive venue of PvP with PUGs because it has become so Anon-macho. :L The spirit of friendship, friendly competition, and good sportsmanship would improve that aspect of the game vastly, IMO (in my oponyon).
On the last page: Derp-Zam! It would always guess the music title wrong, but be adorable in the process so you'd love it anyways :)
