I must say, genuinelly enjoying the little gags within it, well adapted to text humour with some great skits. hadn't realised it was a "part" until it ended (the ED post doesn't mention it's a one part continuing) so it's an intriguing surprise to hear that more will be coming.
I look forward to the...you might say...second act. :p

You write Rarity so much better than I do! T_T But I took notes! Very well written first chapter! Until the next one I probably will have images of ponies performing "Pirates of Penzance" ... for no other reason that Pony Theatrics is an awesome idea.
Poor Dashie...luck just wasn't on her side tonight.
Anyways, you did a great job keeping everyone in character, and I look forward to seeing this continued!

Maybe...
Make Rainbow Dash a colt.
Add a romance between Dash and Pinkie.
Make Rarity reciprocate Spike's affections.
Just a few ideas.
If I was writing this story, I guaruntee you the twist at the end would be that this is a story relayed from what Spike told the Equestrian Thespians about the adventures of those days.

Just wanted to let you all know that this fic isn't any kind of a reference to Avatar or the episode Ember Island Players. The play is going to be original, rather than lifted from the adventures of the mane cast. Sorry for any confusion/disappointment.
Quite enjoyable. The characters are portrayed just as I'd expect them to be in the show. Pinkie's behavior when Dash was asking for a cupcake on layaway was especially amusing. I'll add this one to my reading list. Thanks!

That was fun, a bit surprised it was a Part 1, but then I probably should have paid more attention to the title.
This could easily pass for an actual episode. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
