It sounds like a modified intro theme. I think Daniel Ingram confirmed that the actual intro for season 2 would remain the same, but this could have been a small modification to how it starts.
That or the Twilight Sparkle solo he mentioned a while back.

I didn't expect the mouth to start moving along with the singing. It's both kinda neat and a little creepy. The design overall is the usual odd one we're used to for these. For now at least. It's kinda a fun little toy. I'm on the fence as to whether I'd actually buy one myself though.

Sounds to me like a full version of the theme. With other shows like Rescue Rangers and Tale Spin, there was more to the theme songs than just what was played in the intro, usually one full verse more than what they played.

I actually saw this thing in the store today. It's really not as pink as it looks in the video (must be the lighting or something). In any case, I'm kinda split on this one. I love that it sings the actual songs from the show (plus a NEW one!), but I'm still disappointed that it's not more on-model.

That was interesting. I found it really weird that Twi sang the other ponies verses, but either than that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I like the third song! If there was a new intro and that song was part of it, that would be really awesome. Is there a vid of the Pinkie Pie version of the toy yet? I'm interested to see what that's like. If she sings Giggle at the Ghostie, I'm sold.

If that's the new opening, I like it. It keeps the original lyrics, but adds in a little more and changes the timing of the beat to the music.

It's extremely likely because Daniel Ingram said he was considering "remixing" the theme a bit for Season 2 and this isn't just an extra verse. The chorus sounds slightly different too, it's just hard to hear from the poor sound quality of the toy.

There are two things about this that surprise me just as much as the third song: The quality of the audio and the surprisely good lip syncing. It has been a long time since I have seen toys like this (I usually avoid them like the plague) but from what I can remember from my childhood, the audio was usually poor and the lips would flap at random moments in a really eerie way.

Reminds me of the Teddy Ruxpin Storyteller bear I had growing up, but Ruxpin wasn't as creepy when it spoke. Just my humble opinion. Cool toy none the less, I do like the songs it sings. Hasbro, you're getting closer to the gen 4 look, but not close enough yet to make me want to buy this one.

When the 3rd song started I thought she was singing Help! Twilight has the best taste in music. But also, THE VOICES ARE SPEAKING THROUGH HER.
I'd rather have a Fluttershy plushy that says "yay!" when you squeeze her hoof.
But Twi being able to sing several voices simultaneously, and mysteriously materialise background instruments is pretty Pinkamena-beat if you ask me.

Her self-harmonization and lip-synching scare me, but the quality is impressive, and apart from the weird hair tuft thing on her mane and tail, I think it looks okay (particularly since, as been mentioned, she's not pink).
