It gets more tedious with each name because it multiplies the number of entries. It's not hard but it is repetitive and time consuming. Also spelling the same word about fifty times will make you think it is spelled wrong even when it is not.
I don't know if y'all will find this gross or hilarious but when I got to GummyxNightmare Moon I laughed for a good five minutes imagining NMM making out with Gummy.

For the record, I believe the proper calculation of the total pairings is this.
The actual chart begins on the second row and second column, the first of each being for single names, so...
(52x52)-50=2654
If you don't include repeat combos, Twilight x Trixie vs. Trixie x Twilight, it is...
((52x52)-52)/2 + 2=1328
(You have to add the 2 self-ships at the end, otherwise you divide them by 2, giving only 1 self-ship)
Of course, one could say that Twilight x Trixie is being told from Twilight's perspective, while Trixie x Twilight is being told from Trixie's, giving the two a distinct difference.
Needs more of the self shipping though Pinkiephrenia and Trixiccissim are hard to beat.

I have arrived at 1380 possible ships. Here's how:
There are 53 characters, and so there are 52 ships in the first column (since one is a double up). The next column will have 51 ships (one will be a repeat from last time). This wipp keep going until the last column, which will have one unique ship.
So, our equation looks like this: 52+51+50+...+3+2+1
This adds up to 1378, but since there are two extra ships (Pinkie X Pinkie and Trixie X Trixie), we add two to get 1380.
Hopefully I didn't make a fatal flaw in there somewhere.

Close, but keep in mind that the actual chart doesn't start on the first row, it starts on the second. Then you have to exclude the first pair because it's blank. By your method, it should be 51+50+...+2+1 + 2 = 1328.
