The League of Extraordinary Gamers Charity Casting
Starting on August 7, a week long charity marathon event will be held for the Make a Wish foundation.
They are currently looking for a talented artist to set them up with a banner for the event. Here are the copypasted requirements for that:
It must have the name of the charity in it, this time Make a WishIndeed friends! The Great and Powerful Trixie's glowing personality would win the hearts of just about every gamer out there!
It must also have The League of Extraordinary Gamers name in it as well

I don't know much about Second Life, and this article doesn't exactly do a great job for non-secondlifers to dig through, but apparently the people running Bronyville did a bunch of stupid crap a few years ago and it ended up catching up to them.

Ponies Invade the London Science Museum
A recent meetup at the London Science Museum left behind a whole pile of pony drawings that would never make it into a drawfriend post! Have some!
Yep! Ponies. This meetup was supposedly really fun though. I haven't heard of a bad one yet.
Equestrian Civil War Youtube Game
The basis of this little event is pretty interesting. Instead of immediately defeating Nightmare Moon in the pilot, the goddess of the night had a chance to tell her side of the story, where Celesita, in her eyes, is an evil controlling tyrant who hates all races other than ponies. (griffons, diamond dogs, ect all hated!)
The mane 6 become split between sticking with Celestia, and Following Luna. This leads to the formation of the great Lunar Republic VS Solar Kingdom Civil war!
Each faction will compete in various youtube style challenges for dominance. If pony war isn't your thing, the video for it is at least pretty awesome! You can find it embedded below!

And my guess for how such efforts got past lawsuits in the past, and still continue to do so today, is that the cost and time spent on stopping efforts of others making money on other people's work is not worth what could be regained from suing the people who committed such actions. I'd imagine that's the reason why sites such as fanfiction.net are still up and running; nobody is making a profit on the works they write and submit.

Also Little Kuriboh singing the theme song in Marik Ishtar's voice is really awesome. I guess he has to do something in those 3 months it takes to make a video. I wonder if he will do something like this. The last thing he got into was The Slender Man Mythos and that gave us Concrete Giraffes.
The Second Life article just says that there were two groups of problem-makers who infiltrated the Brony part of the SL world after having been banned.
They made new names, but did something stupid and exposed themselves, thinking they'd never be caught.
They later, while still using those ban-avoiding names that they already exposed, got involved in an 'employment' aspect of the Brony world, when they were finally caught.
LL doesn't particularly filter through it's targets, and just went ban-crazy on everything connected to those names, which included taking-out Ponyville.
OK, so who is the brony asking all the draw friends to make Trixie eating pine cones? I admire his variation of artist choices, but I have to ask 'why?'. Then I realize that there really doesn't have to be a reason.

The artist that did that movies piece puts a lot of effort and dedication into bringing that art to life. I wouldn't blame anyone who'd want to make sure his/her art wasn't pilfered, hence adding the watermark.

Actually the Ponyville grid got canned because Twinkie Swizzle was its owner, so everything that was in his name had to be removed. Apparently he also stole the password of the guy that made the pony avatars and drained his in-game bank account too.
I honestly didn't think anyone cared enough about Second Life these days to do organized mass griefing anymore, but guess I was wrong on that.

I really like the idea of a Pony Civil War, but I don't like the scenario behind it, the idea that Celestia is some kind of bigot. It's never been established in the show that dogs and griffins and so on were lesser species in Equestria. In fact, Gilda and Rainbow Dash were students in the same flight academy, so there certainly wasn't any discrimination there. What might have been better is if Celestia retained the original Mane Six and Luna got fighters such as Trixie (I know SOME bronies would immediately join the Lunar Republic because of her), and new characters with special dark abilities, like Pretty Poison (power to spread sickness and infection), another named Eclipse (master of night terrors), and so on. Anyway, I just can't imagine joining the game as it's designed now. Join Celestia, and fight for a bigot? Join Luna, and fight against Rainbow Dash and Twilight? Some choice.

Sadly, as a former SL user and a previous follower of this BS, I understand the article about 95%.
Gotta admit, I did NOT see the Woodbury thing coming, been a good while since I've seen that name. And even given the nature of MLP's fandom's origins, most us up probably wouldn't have suspected this to end up being amongst such people. For those not in the know, all you need to know is those are a couple of -serious- big-name bad guys he got wrapped up in.
Linden Lab's "Nuke EVERYTHING or do NOTHING" approach to solving issues is very very typical, and the bronies got caught in the crossfire because of a personal vendetta from LL staff, not just anything business-related, I can almost guarantee it. For this reason, I HIGHLY doubt that the regions that were deleted will be restored, and if by some miracle they decide to defy expectations and not be douchebags for once, they'll certainly drag their feet doing so.
Most likely, though, Bronies will end up just having to rebuild. SL is run by one of the most incompetent bunch of babies in the business world. Even their INTERNAL policies are terrible.
The premise of the civil war game was good, but I'd like a little more moral ambiguity.
One thing bugs me about the civil war video:
Applejack would most likely side with Celestia, and Pinkie would side with Luna.
A note to all bronies who plan to request the new Target merch early using the DPCI number -I'm an LOD (manager) at a target and I can assure you that you are allowed to do this but we will hate you. Never ask for anything from the back room again, it's a huge pain in the flank to get that stuff. But I got one of each the day they came in and they're awesome, especially the Luna Brushable!
My Target already has all that stuff on the shelves! xD

The process itself isn't difficult, but it can be pretty disruptive to the workflow on the sales floor and in the back room, and depending on workload, it can be a real pain.
But if you're polite about it, and try to speed up the process, that can go a long way.
Also, Seth, it's DPCI. Not DCPI. That's just a pet peeve of mine.

As ph00tbag stated, the item code for Target is the DPCI, I spent 3 years at target up until this month so this was... automatic i guess.

The concept I had in mind was that it would be a sort of parallel project, containing stories that couldn’t or shouldn’t be told in a half-hour television format, but fit the spirit of the series. I figured it could be a teens-and-older cut-off, which would allow the writing to be a little more forthright without being too adult. That’s a fine balancing act, but there’s a whole category in Europe called “cadet books”, slotted between what US publishers call “juvenile” and “young adult”, that fits the bill exactly.

Thanks so much for the compliment! I did my very best to make the cover art as lovely and elegant as I could—something an adult would be perfectly happy to carry around in public.
The one logistical aspect of publishing such a fan-work collection that I could see being a problem is professional-grade editing. I do read and enjoy some of the fanfiction to which ED links—and I always avoided fanfiction in the past—but it’s usually a bit of a trial. Nearly every story needs considerable proofreading for spelling, punctuation, and grammar, and many require significant attention from an editor as well as a proofreader. My hands twitch with the need to correct commas, semicolons, em-dashes, misspellings, et cetera.
Two questions would need to be answered.
First: can pro-caliber editor(s) and proofreader(s) be found who would take on such a project? My suspicion is no, unless a budget could be found to pay for such services or pros who also are fans of the show would be willing to work pro bono.
Second: How many fanfiction authors would be willing to submit their works to the often ego-bruising process of editing? If the answer is “most”, well and good! If the answer is “not many”, that could be a sticking point. One way to overcome this would be to set up a submission process and make it very clear that a qualification for inclusion would be to follow the guidance of the editorial process.

You can't have a good, pick a side war game without both sides having morally grey standing. If Celestia was continuing to punish the Gryphons and D.dogs because they caused hell for ponies a long time ago, or NM moon was not planning to raise the sun if she wins, then this would be a fairer game. As it is, the only people who will serve the Solar Kingdom are either people who naturally distrust D.dogs and gryphons due to their previous actions, people who don't want to get on Pinkie & Twilight's bad side, or people assuming it's Pinkie Sense and siding with Pinkie. And they'll all be called Fascist, pony-elitist and so on by the much, much larger Luna- I mean Lunar Republic.
I'm siding with the Solar Kingdom. Besides the fact that I don't trust Miss Moon, They have my 3 favourite ponies- Twilight(due to her love of logic), Pinkie Pie(Due to her complete rejection thereof)and RD (who is somehow the least threat on her side 0_o) That, and every single gryphon and D.dog we've seen so far has been a massive douche.
