So yesterday Memebase took down all of the pony memes. Obviously this was a pretty hated decision, so they have officially delcared today as official pony day!
To be honest, it was probably for the better. I think being classified as a sub-culture is good enough, the pony memes were really only poular among brony comunities.
@Anonymous I agree with Anon here. We love and tolerate, even if those we love and tolerate do not understand. Is this really how the Great and Powerful should act, Sethisto?

It's quite interesting to see two immovable objects (Bronies and Anti-Bronies) clash in the comments. It kinda makes me want to study different types of psycology that deals with cultures and groups of people...
Also I third the Anon above that said that we shouldn't force ponies on people. It's quite weird and it only bolster the anti-brony movement on various sites. We, now that we're a sub-culture, need to keep a level head and stay in our designated sites (Eq Daily, ponyburu, ponychan, rainbowdash.net, etc.).
Personally, I think we shouldn't be swamping the 'net with too many pony memes until Season 2 provides fresh material to work with. Maybe they'll hate a little less if the stuff's more original.
O' course, I'm don't have much to do with memebase and its relations, so I'm speaking out of relative ignorance.

Don't even think about hitting Memebase with ponies. They hate us over there, because our stuff just isn't that funny or memetic outside this fandom. Most of the users who rate and comment are fed up with it, and ignoring any judgments about the intelligence and sincerity of those users, it's still a bad plan to shove our stuff in their faces. Let pony stuff get frontpaged if it's actually worth it.

But after reading comments on some picturrs i thought: these people are so stupid, they couldn't find there way out of a wet paper bag. Remember rule 14 of the brony net: Don't feed the parasprites. It only creates more.
I say that its fine if memebase removed it, (the magic of friendship was too much for one website?) you can always check out KYM for their collection. Also, @The Linker and Anon, I dont think any site has the sole privilege of saying what can or can't be a meme
Um, why the fuck would you even want it to be on memebase. I've actually never been on that site, but reading the comments section, it seems I haven't missed much anyways, those comments are almost as dumb as the yahoo comments. Also, the ponies are NOT a meme. We do have our pony memes, but nobody outside the fandom gets them, so why force ponies upon those(pretty dumb to be honest) people?
Acutally, memebase IS the place for ponies if we pony fans want recognition as erm.. as an internet phenomenon. Memebase is where all of the better meme material is posted for the community to comment their views on it. Its like the center of the meme culture.
That said, ponies are a sub-culture yes but so are ponies. That doesn't mean Pony memes should be restricted from memebase UNLESS we ponies have our own website for it(like icanhascheeseburger for cats). If ponies memes aren't supposed to go on memebase, so are poke memes, celebrity memes, movies jokes, etc, etc.
I don't get why bronies get so miffed over calling Friendship is Magic a meme. In a very real sense, it is a meme. It's not JUST a meme, but it can be regarded like one, especially for sites like KYM that track internet phenomena.
That being said, I support consolidating "pony memes" to keep them from swamping these sites. I'm surprised KYM hasn't done this already with stuff like Sweetie Belle Derelle and Fluttershy Holding Things.
