Baldur's Gate: Pony Edition needs to happen. Ponies need to replace the party members. Minsc could totally be Pinkie because they remind me of eachother anyway.

Baldur's Gate has aged far better then *any* 3d game made ever.
I would love to see a modern take on a game engine like that. Prerendered backgrounds, 2d sprites and then most of the development time focused on the story and gameplay. Also make it oldschool hard, not the piss take on challenge that is Dragon's Age.

I think it would be pointless and would be better if they stayed in their original forms. But this just a suggestion, sadly I'm not a good fanfic writer.

Yeah, that WotC derped SEVERELY when they made Neverwinter Nights. They should have kept it in Bioware's Infinity engine. Icewind Dale 2 proved that the engine could modified to support D&D 3rd edition rules, but nooooooo, they just had to have their cumbersome, useless 3D rendering, those mother f--

Okay, I'm back. I don't think it would be that hard for a few skilled game developers to write a new game with the Infinity engine, but I suppose it's copyright bullcrap that has kept anyone from doing so in the past decade.
Uh, anon, you do know that NWN was originally going to be JUST the engine, right? They were going to release the game as an editing tool for people to mess around with and create their own campaigns; kinda like a Garry's Mod for RPGs.
But then they realized that the market for such a thing would be incredibly small (at the time; with digital distribution it's a lot larger now), so they tacked on the initial campaign. That IS in fact why the pre-expansion NWN is so linear and basic in execution. NWN2 was very linear as well, but had MUCH better developed characters, and it's sequels were much better then both as well.
But I do agree I would love to see more games in the IWD2 Infinity Engine. There's been a number of projects which have attempted to port Baldur's Gate and the original Icewind Dale to it, but I don't think any actually finished..
If Luna is having so many problems with Fallout 3, go get the Gauss rifle or build the Rock-It Launcher. Or better yet, go and buy New Vegas instead. Much more balanced and you can get a pacifist run. I missed doing those.
