few drawfriends ago I commented on a Touhou pic, naming and giving some info on all the characters in it.
let's do that again!
blue earth pony near the top (butterfly cuty mark, large fan behind her): Yuyuko Saigyouji, the Ghostly princess of the Netherworld.
she is the final boss (ignoring the extra stages), and caused winter to last forever in an attempt to make a certain evil cherry tree bloom. Her ability is to Cause Death in Mortal Beings, causing them to move to her Netherworld. Fandom often depicts her as hungry or even gluttonous due to her text in Imperishable Night, the next game in the series.
fox near the top left: Ran Yakumo, the Kitsune.
she is the final boss of the first extra stage, and the midboss of the second extra stage. She is the Shikigami (familiar) of Yukari Yakumo, and as such acts as her right hand. her abilities are listed as black magic and shikigami rituals, whithout further explaination. The fandom often shows her as extremely protective of Chen, as a streaker or a combination of both.

she makes 3 appearences throughout the game: stage 2 midboss, stage two final boss and first extra stage midboss. She is the (somewhat recursive) shikigami of Ran Yakumo. her abilities are listed as Black Magical Arts, whithout further explaination. the fandom often depicts her as childish and adorable.
green earth pony near the center: Youmu Konpaku, the half-ghost gardener.
she is fought three times through the game: as stage 5 mid- and final boss, and once more as stage 6 midboss. Her clan has a strange trait that makes them simultanously alive and dead as Half-ghosts, hence the white thing behind her: it is her ghost half. her "official" role is that of the gardener of the netherworld, but she also acts as a bodyguard for Yuyuko. Her abilities all relate to her style of fighting: skill with a sword, concentration and implied superhuman speed. the fandom often makes Yuyuko try to eat her ghost half.
trio of earth ponies (white, dark grey and red): the prismriver sisters, musician poltergeists.
the white one is called Merlin, the black one Lunasa and the red one Lyrica. The three of them attack you together as the stage 4 boss.
Each of their abilities are listed as "can play (instrument they are show with) whithout physical contact" and to assign certain effects to their performances (Lunasa uses melancholy, Merlin uses mania, and Lyrica uses illusions).
the fandom occasionally refers to Merlin as crazy or rebellious, due to a bug that would break one of her patterns. Personally, I hate their second to last attack.

technically a recurring character from the fifth game (as shown when she meets Reimu), she features as the stage 2 midboss twice over, and once more as the stage 2 final boss.
Her abilities mostly relate to her puppets, which she moves aroun using magic channeled through the strings.
The fandom often refers to her as a bit of a recluse, while even more often shipping her with Marisa Kirisame, one of the Playable Characters, since they team up twice in later games.
white pegasus near the bottom, slightly to the left: Letty Whiterock, the snow woman.
she is the stage 1 boss. Her abilities (manipulation of cold) are strongest in the winter, and since your character intends to end the (unnaturally long) winter, she tries to stop you.
The fandom often jokes about how her hitbox is larger then her sprite, suggesting she is overweight. also occasionally shown as being a frien of Cirno.
blue pegasus near the bottom, in the center: Cirno, the Ice Fairy.
she is the Stage 1 midboss, and one of the few named fairies in the series, while still being popular enough to get her own game(touhou 12.8: the great fairy war).
her abilities mostly involve ice and the manipulation thereof.
the fandom often depicts her as rather big-headed, due to the fact that her first appearance (stage 2 boss in touhou 7: embodiment of scarlet devil) featured an attack pattern that could be defeated by standing right in front of her.
peach pegasus near the bottom, to the right: Lilly white, the fairy of spring.
she is the stage 4 midboss. little is known about her, other than the fact that she announces spring. the fandom often interprets this as "going around shouting IT IS SPRING while shooting all over the place".
Unicorn (possibly alicorn) at the bottom: Yukari Yakumo, the Youkai of Borders.
she is the final boss of the second extra stage, where all the other games only feature a single extra level. Her ability is the Manipulation of Borders, making her one of (if not the) most powerful characters in the game. in one official manga, she is shown to manipulate the border of truth and lies to get to the moon, using a reflection in a pond. It is also suggested she was involved in the creation of Gensokyo, the country the series plays in. The fandom depicts her as lazy, or as an outright troll.
13 is amazing. Ego's stuff always ends up being my favourite, even if I don't know it's by her until later.

# 33 is just hands down the winner this time. Its got all the mane cast, they all look great. The situation is unexplained but adorable. FLuttershy seemed the most affected . . . HAH!

I love the amazing detail on #15, but am far too amused with the incredible setting and then BAM! Pony. XD It kinda reminds me of those humongously detailed pictures which feature Derpy on them. A little more fitting with a pony like Octavia.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD #20. That's Majora's Mask scary right there.
#22 provides me with the same feel and chuckle as #15 before it. and #23 has also got that same amount of clever that #4 & #5 did. Maybe even more so!
#33 is amazing. The style of the ponies is unique and the premise is just too darn cute.

#15: Fantastic as always, Moe. As a soundtrack, my mind automatically cues up "Explosive", by the all-girl string rock band "Bond". Yes, you read that right, "all-girl string rock band".

I love #30- it's a good way to take Berry Punch's joke characterization and make it feel more like something the show would actually do. Though of course they'd never even allude to alcohol on the actual cartoon.
Still, Berry Punch running a vineyard is going into my personal canon. Ponyville's gotta get its wine from somewhere. It also makes me wonder if Applejack doesn't make... well, applejack as one of her apple products.
