I replayed this game I don't know how many times as a kid. I was at a daycare a lot in the summer, and played my gameboy a lot during that time. My main games were Dragon Warrior Monster and this since they banned Pokemon at the daycare...damn I never thought i'd miss those days.
As a video game fanatic I can approve of Fluttershy being evil enough to stomp on innocent creatures.
Plus I like the sound of a person with a demented mind making something like this. It's right up my alley as a person/creature who's played both mario land games back in the day. (Fluttershy with rabbit ears? Some artist get on that.)
I'm also still waiting on Mega Lyra to be a reality, plus Bon-Bon Zero still needs to be made.

When she grabs the fire flower she turns into basically what Trixie would look like given that Fluttershy doesn't have wings.
Add some wings to Fluttershy in all forms and only make them work when she gets the carrot, they should enlarge to show that they can now be used to 'FLUTTER'.
As for the fire flower effect she does looks like either Luna without wings or Trixie.
Adding wings while fire flowered will only make her look like Luna, maybe if you put a flower in her hair?
I woulda thought Applejack would be a more likely choice for a run'n'jump platformer, but this is pretty interesting too. It took me a moment to notice Fluttershy has a unicorn horn when she picks up the fire flower, and replacing the 1up with "yay" is a cute touch.
If not for the limitation of being stuck with specific palette colors, I have a feeling that there'd be ponies spritehacked into just about every 8-bit game out there eventually. Curse you, ancient gaming hardware!
But how can Fluttershy stomp on all her creature friends like that? D:

Apple- grow in size. Carrot- enlarged wings for Flutter. Flower- gains flower power for shooting magical evil dissapating energy spheres.
Also all vegetation is edible by horses so normal mushrooms without the face would be fine as well. (I'd suggest watching some Raocow videos if you want to randomize it even more, just ignore his talk of throwing horses/Yoshi's into pits)
But as for the star though I think that could be changed into a bouncing angel head(Fluttershy's Rabbit with a disposition for anger) icon. Her live counter will be butterflys like Star Gazer already mentioned.
The guy known as 'Salty' has offered to make Rainbow Dash Aran a while back but he required sprites for it. My guess is no one has gotten back to him about it yet or has the spriting know how.
If I may, could I suggest changing the music to something more pony? Perhaps you could ask to use the 8-bit themes you can find on youtube and put them on a loop.
Also, is there any way that you can put the wings on her back when she gets the carrot? Not really a necessity but it'd look more like a pegasus that way.

Fluttershy only looks like Trixie because their hair styles are very close. If you make both of them the same colour and remove their wings and horns, they are more or less identical.

Nostalgic bombed! I remember this game from sooo long ago. That star music is what reminded me of that game.
Wow, how this game brought back memories. I did manage to finish it all the way through. Luna would fit perfectly on that moon level for sure.

I've once made an SNES rom hack replacing Mario with Link. It was easy enough to change the color palette of an SNES game.
Game boy, though. Man, shapes are EVERYTHING! I gotta experiment with the different shades of gray...

I have to agree--Bipedalshy looks kind of weird on two legs, but otherwise I love the concept.
