Very nice short story! :) Thanks for sharing it!
Cute story and relationship, but the plot developments, the character's emotions and the sense of danger the story should convey for the duration of the adventure aren't quite where they should be. If the author is so compelled, he could definitely make the story click; it just needs a little more work.

Thanks to the not-fanfiction button, I was able to forget that this part of the community existed, and live in blissful ignorance of the terrible artistic decisions that some bronies make. But this reminded me and now I am sad.
Not the biggest fan of characters falling madly in love the same day they meet, but it's pretty cute all the same.
Eh, cute story, but like Kyler Thatch wrote I'm not a fan of instant love. I like a little build up.

Great backstory!
This story bugged me for two reasons. One thing has been discussed; I dislike the instant romance element and in general everything feels like it's happening because the plot demands rather than flowing naturally from the characters as we come to know them. (This is a common difficulty with writing oc ponies.)
Second, the whole fated issue seems weird. You made a point of the characters being stunned by the nearly impossible coincidence but there really was no payoff. Given the setup I was rather expecting the last scene to be Celestia looking down at their wedding and saying, "Exactly as planned." (She could arrange for Sparkle to find the spell that requires moondancer, for Nightlight's journal to be in the right place, even for the sun to hit just so to illuminate the journal at the right time...)
This story was so adorable. I truly didn’t mind the cheesy love-at-first-sight element of it at all, plus you guys should cut it some slack considering that it’s a single-chapter short-story. Confound these ponies, bringing out my inner fangirl.
(also, kudos on first fanfic I didn’t catch any spelling errors in)
I wonder how many more people will absent-mindedly state that this was in non-fanfiction, somehow missing the previous 500 people who did the same.
Haven't read it, but plan on doing so... however... shouldn't these have a "shipping" cathegory? or is that only for non-canon pairings?
