First off, following various replies, it looks like the voice actor for Luna will be returning; even though she only has one line and a "gasp" in the second episode of season 1.
That one line did fit her really well though! I'm glad for this.
We can also conclude that Season 1's Voice Actor auditions started on June 1st. Apparently there were a bunch, based on Golden Russet's tweet: "Tired from a full day of casting ponies. So much to choose from!"
Hopefully this means we will see more new characters, and not replacements to current ones!
Also buried a bit deeper is some very...interesting news. It looks like Goldenrusset is trying to get Powdered Sugar into the cast of MLP, by way of cookie bribes.

Seriously Hasbro? The WHOLE SERIES could not have canonically taken place without Luna's character. The only other two who are that INDESPESIBLE to the premise are Twilight and Celestia...I bet this is all just because alicorn ponies cost a FEW cents more to make with their wings AND a horn, you heartless capitalist bastards!

Reread that line again. Stethisto was recapping Luna's lines in the second episode of the pilot, he wasn't talking about any new lines she might have in the second season.
New transformers movie => Apparently there have been big hulking transforming death bots on the moon for some time now.

As far as we know all the voice actors are returning. Tara Strong and Peter New have at least stated they have been called back for voice overs.
But Luna's VA is the same as Rarity's.
I don't understand. Replacement to voices? Crossovers IN the show (as in, not just commercials?). Of course nothing is confirmed but... I'm going to sleep, I can't think. I hope none of this happens.
I hope they don't add to many new charaters! Having to many new ponies running around could ruin the relationship we have with current ponies we know.

BTW, I'm glad Luna's VA is returning... Hate it when they have to find someone else and you can hear the difference in the character's VA like someone scratching a chock board.
I too also hope for not just returning characters but new characters as well. ( This includes more then just making Season 1 Back ground characters like Ditzy/Derpy more official too )

I just read a comment on DeviantArt saying, "Transformers got us girls, so My Little Ponies got you boys." It just occurred to me how true that's become.
Anyway, I'd be surprised if anyone thought Luna wouldn't return for Season 2. She is Celestia's sister after all. Co-creator, goddess and all.
But I really hope the voice stays the same. Every fic I've read that involves Luna, I've read her lines in that same soft voice she had in the show. Almost like Fluttershy. I'll be upset if she doesn't turn out like we've all imagined ;_;

The Closest I can think to a TFA crossover would be a character sharing the name and appearence of Powered Sugar,TFA did have background characters named after Lickety-split and Nightbright. Either that or one of the characters has a freaky dream that shifts into animation based on TFA.
Cool news that the Luna VA's returning though that should be a no brainer and that it looks like we'll have an even bigger cast for Season 2.

When Transformers Animated started I was like "hell yeah Gargoyle voice actors, I'm all over this." And then I saw the character designs... You just can't do a good show with those character designs.

I'm guessing Powdered Sugar would just be a background pony or get a few throwaway lines, so no big deal; just an easter egg for the TA fans.

So it makes sense to me now, but I can't recall where I read it, can't provide source so I might be wrong here.

Based on the video you linked, I get the impression that the inclusion of powdered sugar would be nothing but a cameo, seeing as how she's just a unicorn with no lines or consequence to the plot. The cameo could be easily done.
Sure do Miss Transformers Animated. Even though that was One of my Least Favorite Villains, That Cameo wouldn't be too bad.

Tabitha St. Germain has always been part of the crew, she's not coming back. she's always been here as Rarity, this just means she'll be back as another character too. Like Ashleigh Ball with Rainbow Dash and Applejack, and Andrea Libman with Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy.
