That's it... Hasbro needs a licence with lego.  These things are awesome!  I'm surprised all of those colors even exist.  Maybe I should dig out some of my old legos...

But we all know that LEGO Star Wars was awesome until they started milking it. Which was when they decided to not included all 6 movies in one game to BEGIN WITH.

    5. Um, Seth, if LEGO were to actually MASS PRODUCE these, they would have to make some molds, because these figures are made of CLAY over LEGO pieces. Plus, in the LEGO Community (Trust me, I go to Eurobricks.com), they think this stuff should be condemned :P

    6. No...I can't get pulled back into legos...I escaped them before.

iam the maker of these ponies,
i can arure you thati dont use clay on my ponies
al the mades ponies are made with hotglue wich looks like plastic when hardened. clay is too fragile, and another thing why does evrypony go hating on me, i am a customizer after al , and these are Custom made ponies after all , they still fit on baseplates, also for better pictures, got to my youtube channel
      search thebalthazar147

    13. Like I give a hoot what the lego community thinks! They are plastic bricks, why would you get up set with how some one plays with their own toys!?!?!

      ReplyDelete
    14. @Bongo
Condemned for the clay or condemned for being ponys?

      ReplyDelete
    15. not strictly lego I think, they are not blocky enough or big enough to allow for the detial.

    16. For real, it would be like me getting up set someone repainted their own Cheetor toy to look like a Voltron cat, why would that upset me? It wouldn't! Just for that Im going to make a Bionical pony!

    17. @Anonymous:

...Bongo wasn't saying that these things are bad, he was stating the honest fact that the LEGO community would hate to see them made.

And I don't see how saying they look like they're made of clay could be considered an insult.

    18. That's weird, I was just wondering why no one had made lego ponies yet the other day when I finally pulled out my legos to make something useful (a camera holder).

And then it happened. What the heck.

    19. These look like they're made out of clay. . .

You'd be surprised. Some toy collecting communities are second only to car communities in terms of total purist insanity over what you are "allowed" to do or not do with the things you own.

Also, these really tempt me to make a trip to the nearby Lego Store and see if the giant wall of a-la-carte bricks has enough purple ones for a Twilight model. It'd be more worthwhile than that $400 Death Star set, at least...

    21. Someone needs to make an epic monument to pony-dom in lego form. Yanno with the normal sized legos, but really big statues.

      ReplyDelete
    22. Well the toy collecting communities can suck my customs! Onward to ponies!!!

That's Bionicle, crazyredemu. I don't mean to be a Grammar Nazi here, but since the Bionicle brand is no longer being produced, I feel that it deserves proper respect. Honoring the dead and whatnot.

    26. Just to clarify the confusion, it is because a lot of the AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego...the more you know) like to keep themselves 'pure', which means just using pure bricks from the box. Sure, there are many who customize LEGO molds, but a lot of AFOLs don't like it when you alter the actual brick (Such as cutting, gluing, painting, etc), so when they see these horses, dogs, and bricks (Yes, I can tell what their original mold or brick is by the look of the body), they dislike it.

I am just giving you the facts. AFOLs don't like their bricks being altered.

      ReplyDelete
    27. I doubt LEGO would even consider licensing MLP. Considering they are both big name toy companies, they probably have a bit of rivalry.

      ReplyDelete
    28. Yea I knew I spelled it wrong once I looked at the poster on my wall but I was hoping no one would notice lol.
"Their bricks being altered."? You know if someone was to bitch to me about what I do with my toys I'd make them eat em! "Oh you don't like my custom Derpy Bionicle?" "WELL WHAT DOES YOUR STOMIC THINK ABOUT IT!?!?!! LETS ASK IT!!!!" BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

      ReplyDelete
    29. I work for the LEGO Group, and have a fair amount of interaction with the AFOL (adult fan of LEGO) community, and yes, most AFOLs are purists that frown upon any alterations to official bricks. HOWEVER, there is an entire industry around custom bricks (see BrickArms.com), so there are clearly fans that don't mind.

Sadly, there is an additional reason for some AFOLs to frown upon custom LEGO Ponies, and for LEGO to never produce any official MLP sets:
Hasbro is launching a competitor product, Kre-O. It is a 100% LEGO system knock-off, using Hasbro licenses (Transformers at the moment) and bricks made by Oxford, a veteran LEGO knock-off manufacturer.

Then again, I work for the LEGO Group and still love ponies, so I guess that love and friendship can overcome!

    30. Oh lawd
      Extensive amounts of want

      ReplyDelete
    31. Wait! Lego knock off!?! So we could get block ponies for cheaper, the money grubbing lego company can keep their fancy blocks I still get ponies! (and with Bionicle killed off they won't get any of my money any more hahahahaha screw hero factory)

      ReplyDelete
    32. @crazyredemu

Ehh, to be honest knockoff brands of Legos are not that great. The quality of the plastic can be very spotty depending on the brand, so sometimes they're too thick or too thin and won't fit together right, and the colors and sizes of the bricks are often extremely limited. They're cheaper, but you definitely get what you pay for.

    33. @Bongo

This, its nothing against ponys, but as somepony who has been a huge lego fan their whole life, i cringe a little when i see this stuff.....nothing against the artist though, they are still cool!

      ReplyDelete
    34. If you guys even saw the video about the lego ponies, they're just lego horses and dogs with paper mache on them. I'm gonna make some good lego ponies after i move to Seattle in July.

    35. I am a member of Eurobricks myself and an AFOL for 10 years now. And I searched for a topic about these creations in the customisation forums, but I could not find anything, I not know exactly what people at Eurobricks said about it.
Atleast I will say that I shall not do this with my own lego, but I like it very much and I think most of the customs comes out very nice.
I will not rant at the maker, because it is his own creation and there are many more Afols who customise figs for their own fun.
I would like to know how the maker has made Stephen Magnet.
