June 6th is The Elements of Harmony: Laughter Day!

-Laughter! Start the day off with something that makes you laugh and puts you in a good mood.
-Spread the laughter. All day, try to make as many other people laugh as you can, even if it means being more silly than you're used to.
-Wear some pink in honor of Pinkie Pie horsepresents the Element of Laughter. Depending on what you wear you might spread some laughter just with your clothes.
-Cupcakes! Make and share cupcakes with family and friends.
-Being Pinkie Pie themed, if you want to throw a party do it! Remember the blue and yellow balloons. Oh, and STREAMERS!
-Face you fears! If you can do it safely, take Granny Pie's advice and try to overcome some fear you have. Giggle at that ghostie! Don't be upset if you don't succeed, it's laughter day after all. Besides, trying counts.
-Candy! Lots of it, if you want.

Postpone it for a day. My birthday is the day after and what could be better than having a birthday on a day for ponies. Even better that it's Pinkie's day, the master of party throwers!

Why is D-Day now the day for laughter? Maybe they wanted to laugh for as long as possible, so they chose the longest day.

Ponychan has a wordfilter on "whore" that changes it to "horse". It sometimes derps and forgets to worry about spaces.
Also, I'm just saying, but perhaps D-Day isn't the best day for laughter.

I don't have a pink shirt, nor do I really have the funds to participate in all of these.
I mean, I suppose the pink shirt would be easy enough. It could be achieved by bleeding a red shirt onto a white shirt or sun-bleaching a red shirt, but that would only be the beginning of it.
I said "Maybe Attending" because I might not be able to fulfill all of these due to being broke.

Yeah, basically the dates came from the long Ponychan thread about the Elements of Harmony holidays creation. There's six ponies in the main cast so the holidays take place on the 6th. It could have gone 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. but that was deemed overly complicated.
The dates come from the fact that there are six elements and twelve months, so a holiday every other month. Last holiday, kindness, was in April so laughter fell in June.
Still kinda partial to the holidays being Feb 1st, April 2nd, June 3rd, August 4th, Oct 5th and Dec 6th myself but most people decided on the 6th for all of them. Eh, it's fine.

Ironically, tomorrow is also the silver anniversary of the My Little Pony movie being released. I actually sat down and made a video review of it to mark the occasion.

I'm terribly shy and afraid of crowds, but this sounds like such a great idea that I'll be sure to try and giggle at the ghosties by going out and buying something pink to wear, and ingredients for cupcakes of course!
I'm the complete opposite of Pinkie; I'm not much of a fun spirited kind of person when it comes to a special day or occasions. I rarely celebrate anything.
Still, I'm certainly looking forward for this day. I wonder how this will turn out at my school.
Alas, I have to spend the day where I can't get away with wearing Pinkie-attire (without ruining it beyond salvation).

In late May and early April there was a long thread on Ponychan were lots of people fleshed out the dates and a lot of the other information about the six elements holidays. That's where the "official" dates come from.
Official just sounds too official for a holiday based on a cartoon. It's not like anyone has to celebrate on these dates. It's just some are and everyone is welcome to join in.

A successful laughter day. Everyone seemed happy today, I reckon there's a few secretive bronys amongst my friends. Anyway, I didn't bake cupcakes, I bought them (I'm a lazy brony).
