Waitaminute, are they hiring because they are enlarging the group, or because people have left for some reason?

Dammit Jayson, if you're gonna make me learn to draw, animate, and storyboard while trundling through the desolate Canadian tundra, I need more warning.

Heh, heh. I'd love to tell people that I make my living being a poser.

If only if only.

Ummm...I write screenplays for a living does that count?

If only I knew how to use flash....and could animate...and draw.....and lived in Canada....you can tell where this is going.

Nothing music-related. I am saddened.

Welp, I don't live in Canada, nor do I have the training. BUT, MLP:FIM has revived my life-long dream of becoming an animator. Now to look at some schools...

"Applicants should have a strong working knowledge of Flash and previous experience working on an animated television series."

"previous experience working on an animated television series."

Damnable 'previous animated television experience'. I almost feel like it'd be plausible for me to apply otherwise.

Almost. ._.

I never really was comfortable with Flash. I made some cool things, but I always preferred After Effects.

@Anonymous

We're pretty animated. Somebody view this page on their TV and we're in, right?

*Flashes back to the times he ATTEMPTED to draw anything... The poor mail man that had 11 arms... The fruit bowl that looked like a bad abstract painting... The horrible, HORRIBLE sketches of ponies he attemted to draw for the Artist Training Grounds, it was a blob by the end of it.*

Me:...

*Chops off hand with a butcher knife, replaces it with the right hand of the robot devil from Futureama*

Me: Success!

*Still can't draw*

Me: ARGH!!!!!

The moral? I can't draw... Therefore, I won't be able to work there... Therefore I am sad... Therefore I remember that there's a new season of MLPFiM on the way... Therefor I am happy once again.

Me: I think I'll stick to attempting to write.

I'm an artist
*looks a piles of needlework around her*
but I fear I am the wrong kind of artist for this
(also I am not Canadian)

They want people with experience with Flash, and who have worked on other animated television series. You can't just knock on their front door and ask "LUL XD CHECK OUT MY OC, HIRE ME PLIS".

Am I the only peson who is canadiqn and has used flash? To bad, still stuck in school for animation, no professional experience in the fields, and I'm stuck in Nova scotia. If I were only 5 years older, then I would definitly apply. Good to see there are awesome jobs for someone in my field located in Canada. Woot!

Knowlege of flash... ok. Previous experience working on an animated television show... DAMMIT.

No offense to Canada but...
Welcome to the new America!
Outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing!

Well, I have a little Flash experience, tho the results were all pixelly. Probably because I didn't know how to vector stuff (and still don't, really...) And no previous TV experience either.

Not to mention being a US citizen, tho I live in a state on the border, so...

Yeah, this probably wouldn't work out for me. Unless they care more about bare animation skills and knowledge.

I may end up getting there someday, since my animation program has close relations with DHX Media...

but don't forget guys, if they hire you, you may end up working on a different show anyway.

@blitzthedragon You know both Raven and Twilight are voiced by Tara Strong, right?

REQUIREMENTS:
-Must live in Canada
-Must be a decent artist
-Must have very good knowledge of Flash
-Must have previous working experience on an animated TV show
-Must be old enough to legally work

I live in Australia, which is a LITTLE too far.
I'm the worst artist I know.
I know almost zilch about Flash.
I wouldn't know the first thing about it, except for the audio commentaries of The Simpsons
I'm too young to get a job.

Well, I still think I have a chance. Wish me luck!

*moves to Canada*
*becomes a decent artist*
*continues Flash studies*
*goes to work on another animated TV show*
*is old enough*

As a chef I could walk across to Canada on a work visa to apply... Sadly, they need animators & not people to make them food. Come on, guys! You need someone to make your in-house meals, right? Pretty please...?

DavidReinold said...

I hope this show is still going in a few years when I can move there and apply. Who am I kidding, this show isn't going anywhere, it'll be here forever...

Heireau said...

Hah. You should probably type the "previous experience with animated television series" part so that no one wastes a trip there to be rejected.
