I just checked the episode, since I had never seen it myself -- it's just Lyra sitting like that. Some blue pony with light grey hair is with her, sitting in a normal pony way. Bonbon is elsewhere in the park, though joins up with Lyra later (away from the bench).
the second one may very well be the greatest thing produced by this fandom to date... or the second if you collectively count any work that involves derpy as dinky's mother.

Pacing and art on that one were very good, the eye naturally followed the narrative events in the correct order and without spoilering the next part. Lovely.
The way they act towards each other in the second comic, and the total pathos overload, reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. The whole thing could be a great c&h sunday strip. More please.
#2 - At first, I giggled, then I cried. Now each time I look at it, I cry and then cry a bit more. Now, when I saw it while listening to slow song, I cried badly. that pic is just so, so unfair.
the bawww from the second one was so cute it nearly made me sick, i luckily looked away in time, that is almost too cute, luckily my head hasn't exploded from the cute overloads.
I really love the charachterization given to Luna in the 2nd comic, as it reminds me of all the BEST luna fics, she is exactly like this, simply very emotional and scared, and simply lonely. It was just her tragic lot to be born with the moon. Celestia has always been more mature. She could have handled being the moon guardian better. Here, you can easily see a Tagic, lonely soul who only wants a friend to be easily taken advantage of the one who made her NMM.
Grr, when I saved those pictures during the contest, I was super happy because I thought I would have had saved pictures that all the other bronies who decided not to go through all ~300 pictures in the contest... now here they are again... *mumble mumble*
