I would like to see ones with a cute mark on the front or have the character on the front that is coming from the back (like the demo or soldier shirt from the Valve site). The issue with me is that I want to wear an MLP shirt, but one that isn't completely embarrassing to wear in public. I want something that fellow bronies will see and recognize me as an MLP fan, but not get stares from people because I'm wearing a shirt with a pony on it non-ironically.
For example, I'm down with say, a black shirt with a cloud with Rainbow Dash's cutie mark (a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt) in the center, or something like that. Something other bronies will recognize but won't weird out non-fans.
Also: I'm sorry, but those "beta ideas" look terrible. I will actually pay you money not to use them.

Simple shirts in the colour of the ponies with just the cutie marks on them would work.
A Big MacIntosh shirt. Front or side view of the charecter doesn't matter. Cutie mark isn't a biggie, but the harness and the piece of straw in the mouth is. And, of course, the word 'Eeyup'. For the shirt color, I'd personally like a brown, grey, or black.
I have not bought any pony merchandise yet. I would buy this.
Honestly, I would be all over a red shirt with Big mac's Cutie mark near the bottom right of the shirt and the word "Eyup." simply printed on the chest.
Oh, and a purple one with Twilight's hair stripes going down on the left side of the torso, from about the shoulder down the left breast or something. I would love it if it had "God I love books!' imprinted on it, but I'm probably int he minority here.
Maybe one with Pinkie poking out of a hole in your chest, kinda doing the forth wall thing. (I'm not sure about that one actually, probably seems better in my head.)
Maybe they could have a line of shirts that are like the elements of harmony, with the word "Honesty, Loyalty, etc." imprinted on them, and each could have it's own special design and color that coincides with the element. (That's just wishful thinking for me and my friends)

I agree with the fact that we need a shirt that only people who know the show will get (best example the TF2 scout shirt http://www.teamfortress.com/scoutupdate/images/05_bottom.jpg if you don't know what TF2 is you will be like "That is a nice shirt but what does it mean?" If you know what TF2 is you will know that it describes a quote the Scout says in his Meet The Team video)

Plain color shirts of the mane cast's bodies with their cutie mark on the bottom right. I want a Twilight Sparkle SO BAD!
I'd like to see a shirt with the scene from Dragonshy where everyone is getting ready to leave and it shows all 5 of them posing, possibly with text like "Prepare for battle". Or just an image of rainbow dash putting on the rainbow war paint.
As long as there are fluttershy shirts I will be a happy pony.
My advice would be: don't make the shirts too girly, make sure the designs are correct, try to stick with quotes from the show.

For simple designs, I'd like a run that's just cutie marks, preferably on colour-appropriate shirts. (Eg. Twilight's on purple, Rarity's on white, etc.) Bi-coloured Silhouettes on black would be nice as well.
For captioned designs, I want a "Do you want to HEAR whining?" Rarity shirt, with a stern glare from the unicorn. A fittingly garish Cutie Mark Crusaders shirt would be nice as well. We need an "Okie Dokie Lokie" Pinkie Pie somewhere too.

THey better make some for Bronies and not just for girls. Sorry but girls youth sizes dont exactly look good on me.
They need better phrases than random stupid jargon like whatevs and adorbs or epic cute. I think they should use MLP memes and do cutiemarks on the clothes. Maybe even some nice original designs of the ponies rather than stock images.
I can't wait wearing one of those. SHAMELESSLY BRONY! It'll also be easier for bronies to find each other!

I think that a black shirt with a colored outline, silhouette, or one of their cutie marks would look really nice, but wouldn't weird out people who aren't fans of the show.
Also, I'd love to see some designs with just a picture (no text).
First of all, I think that there should be a balance between subtle and obvious designs. I would certainly prefer subtler designs, but there are also many who want bright ponies on their shirts.
Regarding subtle shirts, I will use these two existing shops on Spreadshirt as examples:

The first store only stocks one design, but it is a fantastic shirt. The reference is extremely obvious to anyone who has heard of MLP, but it doesn't scream it (a positive for any closet bronies). More importantly, it can stand as a quality shirt even if it wasn't referencing the show. I'm not sure how much leeway you have with the images used on the shirts, but if you have the ability, it should be worth designing one or two shirts similar to that.
The second store carries a wider variety of shirts. "Nightfall" and "Sunrise" do a good job of using images that are only slightly edited from the show. I think a major issue with the prototype designs that were posted earlier was that they were essentially enormous clip-art with captions. While there is certainly a market for that, I think most bronies would prefer something more stylized. Two other significant shirts from that store are "Quills and Sofas" and "Rock Farms." Those two quote based shirts take a somewhat obscure quote from the show and run with it. I also think shirts that use MLP-specific phrases would be more popular with bronies than generic "Whatevs" or "Epic Cute."
As for specific content, does the license include background ponies as well? Despite my preference for subtle shirts, I would likely buy a shirt that features Vinyl Scratch (DJ Pon-3) or Lyra's sitting pose. I'd also love a nice shirt of mustache Spike. Some good quotes to match images in the style of the demo designs could be:

Honestly, the only way I'd buy one of these shirts if it was reversible with maybe just a cutie mark on the sleeve, for those of us who are closet bronies but still want a shirt.

Just about anything that a brony would recognize is from the show, but is very subtle. Here's an example that I would be fine if they were to use (don't need to credit me at all): "I'd like to be a tree." with maybe a picture of Bloomberg or something. Of course, just about any joke from the show will do (I saw a Quills and Sofas shirt a while back somewhere, so something like that would be cool too.).

I'd also like to request that most, if not all, the shirts be available with a black background. The bright background colors are a bit much for my personal tastes and I'm probably not the only one.

Even though this will be way at the bottom and probably not read, following what jinx does with WoW shirts is a good idea. Obvious reference for those who know the show, yet not so obvious for those who don't. A shirt with some of our favorite lines or symbols would be great, for those of us who aren't quite ready to go out in public with an obviously MLP shirt yet :P

Yeah, I'm also a big fan of subtle shirts-have a few from different shows/games. I know it's kinda cliched and springboarding off of what some other bronies said, but how about six shirts, each in one of the mane six's colors that have their hair and eyes on the front and their respective cutie mark on the back? Oh, and maybe also a line somewhere under the cutie mark?

Some shirts referencing quotes form the show, like 20% cooler, with ponies on them would be cool to. I'd love to see shirts with Derpy and Luna. I'd buy those no matter what.
How can some of you actually like the original designs? You take your likeliness for the show so far as to love anything with a pony on it. The designs are terribly obnoxious and downright embarassing.

hell i really dont care too much for subtle i mean i am a guy and i already had purple shirts to previously becoming a brony and a few other bright colored shirts so wearing bright colors isn't too bad for me plus i wear alot of weird shirts related to cartoons or gaming etc plus already bought the shirtbrony 20% cooler shirt and nearly everyone i know knows about me being a brony so people probably wouldn't think too much of it so whatever they come out with i will most certainly purchase and wear everywhere i go proudly

See, What I would buy woudl be something that isn't blatantly obvious... I dont want a regular person coming up to me and asking "Why the heck are you wearing a shirt with My Little Pony on it? That show is for kids" or some crap... I want something a little more subtle... something regular people wont notice, or something they wouldn't quite understand, but still think it was a decent shirt, but if a Brony saw me on the street they would recognize it instantly and high five me.
For example, i wear a Starfox Coffee shirt that is made to look like the Starbucks logo. Most people wouldnt get the Starfox reference, but they would understand i'm parodying Starbucks. This shirt is awesome because it gets two reactions... Regular people understand that i'm making fun of something, while people who get the joke think its hilarious... It's not so obvious that i'm a big fan of starfox to regular people, but to the other Starfox fans, they immediately recognize the symbolism and get the joke, causing them to laugh.
So all in all, something subtle that Bronies will get, but not somethign so obvious that regular people look at me funny... Maybe have a giant rock with the sonic rainboom behind it, with a silloute of young rarity by it, and underneath it says "My destiny is a ROCK???" or something... that way normal people would just be meh, or even chuckle at the obscure idea of someone's destiny being a rock, while at the same time, bronies would laugh their butts off at the reference...

There's a shirt that one of the unofficial vendors makes that has a silhouette of Dash flying and under her the word Brony written in the style of the AC/DC logo. The images are black on a grey or white shirt. That shirt is badass, subtle, but still has the pony present. A great Brony shirt that I think would sell a lot.
Also, more Spike. Perhaps him with his stache and/or evil cape. Just Spike in general minus the cutesy captions. And I'd love to see a simple blue shirt with a yellow racing stripe and the Wonderbolts symbol.
Overall, simplicity and staying away from overt cuteness are the keys to making shirts that a lot of Bronies would buy.
A shirt that says "Did somebody(pony) order a PARTY?!". I would buy it. And one that says "Instantly 20% Cooler, just add Dash"

I'm sorry to sound so negative, but those shirt designs and the ones from the previous news post are just terrible. Yes, I did read that they are just beta ideas, but even for proof of concept they are not good.
Of course I do see a few comments here and there mentioning how they love the designs, which is fine. To each their own afterall. As far as my tastes go, those designs are a bit too loud. They feel Hot Topic-y, if you will, which I myself have yet to find to be a good thing.

Minimalist shirts, shirts with some humor, and defs shirts for the non-mane cast ponies. These shirts seem like an opportunity for non-little girls to get shirts, which is the largest market for the other ponies. I'd love a minimalist shirt, or a haughty Trixie shirt.

I'd like minimalist designs without enormous ponies plastered all over the shirt (though maybe a small one on the breast would be nice). Lots of memorable quotes from the show to pick from: "All the ponies in this town are CRAZY!" (Twilight), "Eeup" (Big Macintosh), "yay" (Fluttershy, in tiny letters with lots of empty space around them), etc. Beyond the usual quotes, I like "Confound these ponies" (Twilight meme), or maybe a Quills and Sofas logo.

Designs based off the dresses they wore for the season finale (26). TLC: Tender Loving Care or Totally Lost Cause from (18). Fluttershy facing forward giving the stare (17). Forward facing shots on the front and their flanks with tail in the back. Pinkie Pie in her outfit saying "You gotta share. You gotta care. It's the right thing to do." (21).

Oh I just had an awesome idea of which I'm not sure if it has been said already but.
Shirts with the necklaces and base color of each pony "drawn" around the neck(oh really?) as seen at the end of the season 1 pilot, with each individual ponies aspect of the Elements of Harmony written on the back. (Honesty, Kindness, Generosity, Laughter, Loyalty, Magic.)
For example, for Fluttershy: a Yellow shirt featuring the Butterfly-shaped necklace with Kindness written on the back.
Could you make a shirt which if you love MLP you would understand but other people would be like that's a cool shirt so its cool to walk down the street ?
I'm a fan of polo shirts, so I would like to see a polo with say, a small cutie mark in the regular polo crest location.
At WonderCon, they had a beautiful light blue/turquoise polo with Rainbow Dash's cutie mark where the polo logo goes. I would've loved a purple polo with Twilight's cutie mark.
