I love the story so far, but really I think the best they can do is teach Kratos to at least not kill EVERYONE on his way to olympus..... The kind of crap hes been through is simply not something you forgive, especially being the god of war and all.
im also kinda hoping he puts Celestia in her place before he leaves, mostly cuz im pretty biased to any 'high and mighty' characters, and even ZEUS fears him for crying out loud!

I think GoW 3 makes 4 times, and he ripped Hades' soul out through his forehead. I think Kratos can find some way to maneuver himself out of the sun, or somehow throw Zeus into it. God help Celestia after Kratos find her, I imagine him ripping off all of her limbs and shoving pointy sticks into the wounds. I hope he does something to seriously maim her before he goes back to Earth.

Dedicated GoW fan here, I gotta say that this is one of the most entertaining fanfics I've read. The pure brutality and destruction that is Kratos and the entertainment that is Ponies. Awesome job!
I don't understand how the author can have almost no bloodshed in the story (except for the pre-pony battle in Olympus) and then go on to have Kratos tortured by the CMC (well, based on the data they have no idea what they are doing with dangerous medical implements) for his backstory. I mean, that story is basically what caused him to be traumatized by the death of his family and go on a genocide of gods. WHh would anyone want that?
Also, if that's the element of HONESTY, I hate to think about what the other elements will be like...
I feel that Pinkie needs to reference the game more.

it actually what makes most of the comic "click" is the fact that Kratos (a man who makes The Hulk look even tempered and diplomatic) is being bested by ponies. The whole idea is just bonkers and funny as hell.
And to paraphase Ghost Busters. When a Living God tells you that the sun is a gaint flaming ball of DEATH that she can plunk you in the middle of YOU BELIVE HER.

Yes Kratos is a human being underneath it all but at his core he's still someone not to be trifled with. He does need to find a way out of being dominated completely. He's always been one that will see things as a means to an end, as the author has already said.

Don't worry guys, I have an idea that Kratos is gonna be a bit more domineering in later installments. This quote is from the Deviantart Comments section for part seven:
"There will be action, trust me. I have plans involving... stars, shall we say, in a later chapter."
If he's hinting at what I think he's hinting at, the ponies will soon learn not to screw with... Coltos.
I love the IDEA of this story, but Kratos is just breaking character so hard that it's distracting. It's not that he's showing restraint and so on, you understand. It's that he's being such a frightened puppy about it. Seriously, being intimidated by ANGEL? Being afraid of the CMC? Panicking even. I hope this is addressed at some point. Or at least toned way down because seriously. Still, 4/5 for concept and potential. Definitely going to keep reading and see where it goes.
Yeah, we want Kratos to kill Celestia! How DARE she...stop him from killing everyone? And try to help make him a better person with extremely gentle admonishment and the help of kind and supportive ponies to show him that there's more to life than drowning in the blood of your enemies?

I like it so far even the whole, Kratos being the "captive" of the CMC mainly because it's kinda like the humor with the CMC that you would see in the show. I wonder what the Mane 6 would think of Kratos if they saw the events that took place in all the GoW games and wherever it left off at in III because if Gaia has fallen off the cliff then doesn't that mean he's already killed Posiden. What if Zues or Gaia targeted the Mane 6 with nightmares due to Luna being focused on keeping the nightmares away from Kratos.
I think the whole 'Kratos not permantently flipping his shit' deal works better if you imagine Kratos being the one from the first game, where he was an actual person, and not just a fleshy buzz-saw.
From what I gather, he was a violent dude (like many spartans) but he was still a person.
There better be some sort of violence involvIng kratos hurting something else, not trying to sound like a fanboy or anything but it makes me mad to think of kratos beIng treated his way with no apparent means of "release"

I think princess luna secreatly likes kratos, why else would she protect him like that, I also get the feeling that luna and celestia may help kratos later on, from what I can tell they very good people and who knows maybe they'll help Kratos get his powers back heck they may even help kratos steal his fathers powers

That's exactly how I've pictured Kratos this whole time, from the first game. He was much more human, and we saw traces of that in game 3, which made him a dynamic character. However he has to care about the things that are around him in order to get to his more human side and I think the author is doing well in that regard.
Yes it's distracting to have Kratos SMILE of all things but it's a side that's entirely possible.
I haven't smiled this hard at ANYTHING God of War-related! You, sir, are now my very best good friend.

It was hard for me to picture Kratos smiling. Then again, he's also a pony, so there's that. And that's the thing with God of War III: starting at the beginning of GoW II and ending at the finale of III, Kratos was on automatic kill-mode. He didn't snap out of it until it was far too late. With a bit of finesse and a lot of pony, however, that can be remedied. At least, that's what I tell myself.

For the sake of relative flow, assume that the Hyperion Gate in the Underworld took Kratos to the temple in Part 1, and it all went from there.

I really like the story, but find the interactions between the Princesses and Zeus very dissatisfying and slightly out of character for them. Please don't forget that Zeus is a murdering, raping, torturing bastard and fully deserves everything Kratos wants to give him. For that matter ALL of the Olympians deserve Kratos, even Athena, never forget Arachne!

Let me rant for a bit here.
I hate how in nearly every fan fiction they have to throw in little references EVERYWHERE. One would be okay, but there are at least 3 in every chapter. Seeing as this story is at least 90% serious, I would really enjoy for there to not be that many. It just takes me out of a story, and instead of being immersed in another world filled with ponies I feel like I am reading a fan fiction written by a some guy cackling at his computer.

I gave up on this fic once I read a comment about how you were going to have Kratos actually kill Celestia, and perhaps other members of the cast, in some horrible fashion. Reading a little now, I'm hoping you aren't actually going to go that route, so maybe I'll try reading this.

Hey, ToonNinja. I'mma jes leave this here review for you to consider. Yer a little too far in for me to expect you to make any changes based on this, but it's food for though anyaways.
So, I'm not a big player of GoW, but it's a pretty fun game. It's also extremely violent, with some rather good justification for that violence. I was worried when I first saw this up there that this sort of crossover would be impossible to pull off without softening up Kratos' character to the point it was ALMOST o.o.c.
I was right.
That being said, the story on its own is very, very entertaining and in every way a win. Frankly I can imagine how a GoW crossover could be written better, but I myself certainly don't have the skill to do so, and the one you've got here is just plain fun with a good dose of awesome thrown in. So good job and congratulations.

I agree with everything in the comments by FlintLock however I'd also like to add that there was an obvious touch of OOC in the ponies as well.
However, up to date and still enjoying the fic, I can understand a taking a few liberties.
Some things to consider that might help. There are times when Kratos shows a softer side. The fields of Elysium for example, or his future interactions with Athena before she comes back. Especially that scene where he accidentally kills another spartan (still can't imagine another spartan was baddass enough to beat him there). Kratos' actions during those scenes have plenty of food for how he'd react in a peaceful world.
Read Ch10-12 while listening to Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. The epicness has been doubled!
