This story was borne of my wishing to tackle the Gilda/Dash relationship from a less obvious angle than usual; mainly because as far as I'm concerned, in the relevant episode, no one was innocent. :)

@Bookish: Well, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity, who had next to nothing to do with the events transpired were innocent.

I still need a conclusion man. This chapter just seemed to throw more unexplained plot points for the probably lengthy and epic conclusion.

I admit that I've always wondered how Fluttershy felt about Gilda, since she canonically knew Dash the longest out of the Mane Six. It was something that I was always disappointed that Episode 5 didn't attempt to explore.
Interested in what's going to happen in the final chapter.

I'm reserving judgment until the end, but you don't SEEM to be going for a "poor widdle Gilda" angle, that's always a plus in my book.
Pinkie's acting a bit too normal though.
Although I will go ahead and admit you've at least defied my expectations, that's also a big plus.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. :) It means a lot, and your take on Gilda was a definite inspiration.
And indeed, I'm actually not so much trying to do a Gilda sympathizer story; I actually am quite the fan of Gilda's "razor's-edge" personality, and thus would consider it a disservice to write her any other way.
But if I somehow get her promoted from "monster" status, I'll certainly take it. ;)

...I must admit, am unsure as to what needs "fixing." Gilda's teeth were repeatedly and prominently shown in "Griffon the Brush Off." (Mainly during the party.) Likely because she's a cartoon (half-)bird with sentient qualities. She's hardly the first cartoon bird-entity to have a set, either; Disney's been doing that for decades, for example.

I love this thing to death right now. I wish this feeling would stick around more.
Also, at points it seemed like it was almost turning shippy. That would've been great and all, but it would've ruined it, and then you went and turned those moments from shippy to sweet. I wish more fics did that.
