A post on 4chan brought it to my attention, then I listened to the rest of the CD, and then by the end of the day I was tracking down a Phoenix Wright cart for my DS.
Track 10 - Trucy's Theme - Child of Magic is also freakin awesome.
I imagine if Nightmare Moon got a banner, even she would be more humble than this. I don't think I've ever seen a pony relish the spotlight *quite* this much! XD
Octavia really gained a lot of popularity for a character with barely any affiliation to the main cast, or any other characters for that matter. How come?
Octavia is impressive because it seems like music would be a unicorn thing. At least the actual playing of music, I could see earth ponies being good composers.

yeah but everyone wants to believe that the most poised and elegant character in the show is pinkie's sister... it really does work. I mean yeah she is slightly different in coloration but who cares? just mark it up to pinkie exasperating how drab her life was in the chronicles episode.
Pinkie's sister or not (I for one like the idea, though I accept logic dictates she's just a bgpony), you must admit...she's classy, and that is alluring.

Octavia's hair is darker than Pinkie's sister's...but I suppose it could have gotten darker when she grew up. Her eye color is right though.

At first I was troubled by the idea that she was 'holding' the bow, but then I noticed that she's actually pinching it between her upper and lower foreleg. Rather creative on the part of the character designer IMO.
