Don't think for a second I would have given up if we hadn't found an alternate route, but after yesterday's low point I think I needed this helping hoof more than I realized. And you guys certainly provided a great stress test for the program today! I'm counting 286 Great and Powerful ponies. A lot more Trollestia than I would have expected, but hey. They don't call her the bestia for nothing.

The Theme of the Day
Draw a pony eating fruit. These are art lessons, and this is your obligatory foray into still lifes, except that there are also ponies. Or maybe I just need an excuse to explain why the phrase "Two dollar whole banana" is hilarious. That will make sense tomorrow, I promise.
On a personal note, I wanted to say thank you to everypony who sent along their well wishes along with their submissions. I even had a couple of people e-mail me for no other reason than to tell me thank you and offer their condolences after the death of my cat yesterday. I'm still having some difficulties with that, but I am feeling infinitely better than I was 24 hours ago, due in no small part to all of you. Stay awesome, bronies. Oh, and on a slightly more upbeat note - I keep getting messages as a result of this event addressing me with, "Dear Princess Phoe". And every time I see it I giggle and clap like a six year old girl who just found out she's being taken out for ice cream. This is what you do to me. And I think that's enough embarrassing revelations for now. The Show Must Go On!

I bought a new camera this weekend so i decided try a hand drawing. I spent 2 hours at it but the camera battery ended before i could upload it -.-
I was 1 hour away from the deadline and had rush to make it in flash, but i ended messing up with imageshack and submited the thumbnail.

That's a manifestation of Trixie's ego. It's huge, but entirely harmless, probably. Originally, I was gonna have her acting nonchalant while being attacked by a bunch of clones, but this idea seemed way cooler.

I wish I could have gotten my original idea to work. I spent two hours trying to ponify Sarah Palin, but couldn't get it to look anything like her. So I gave up, switched to Granny Smith, and sent it in 20 minutes late.

Guess it's not quite as awful as I thought. 8^D In order to do the hair, body, eyes, cloak and so on in separate colours, I made twelve different drawings on ZeFrank's Scribbler and pasted them together.
The plethora of hosts and the multiple large files are less than optimum. I've refreshed the page a few times and still there are images missing. At least right-click, open in new tab keeps the whole thing from trying to load yet again.

You guys are absolutely right. The page is taking way too long to load (at least in Firefox).. embarrassingly it loads fine on my Android phone, which is what I used when testing, go figure. I'm investigating a way to create thumbnails, but I'm not aware of any image uploaders that would both 1) welcome automated uploads and 2) keep the images up for any length of time. 120 (Applebloom in Trixie's robe and with a trixified ribbon on her head) was 're-inked' using ZeFrank's Scribbler. The Scribbler is on the web, use Google. 8^) The Scribbler has lots of limitations but it's fun to find ways to work within those limitations.

You're not imagining it! I keep finding myself trying to outdo my previous post, and everyone else's while I'm at it. I went from a simple sketch to an effect-filled action pose to a better-proportioned Trixie.
Just watch. By day 30, over half of the pictures will be drawfriend-quality!

After looking at them mine seems pretty ok to mid-tier good.
Also makes me wonder how some people make theirs so nice looking with straight lines and coloring. Like #38 and 68 for example.

Seven hours for today's means bad quality in the three hours I get tomorrow.
Tomorrow's task better not require anypony other than the CMC, Trixie or me, Phoe, or there will be graphiteical anguish.

Submitted my next entry. I did a colored comic and it took me about 6 hours. Curse my trollish sense of humor.
I found a solution to the thumbnail thing, I hope, which is storing them on sadpanda.us. Had to complicate my cgi a bit to do that, so I really hope I didn't break anything. But, it was a fun day of learning and coding... I love python.
I guess we'll find out how well it worked in about 6 hours! ;)

Yeah I shut it down for about 10 minutes because I was afraid I had some bad code (turned out to be a false alarm, but better safe than sorry). I saw your preview in the log and mentioned it to Phoe already. Don't worry, you're covered! :)
I'd have to say my favorite is definitely 183. The idea is just so cute, and the execution is great, too. I had bigger plans for my picture, but had surprise visitors and had to cut it short. I'm pretty satisfied with my fruit-eating pony, though, and I'm excited to see what the topic will be for tomorrow!
God dammit I forgot to draw Derpy's wings for tomorrow's entry.
