These are toys for kids. Most kids aren't that picky about toys. Obviously adults are a little more sensitive about quality when it comes to a product but these are really engineered towards adults.
Hasbro is a children's toy company first.

Okay, Dash should be Scootaloo, the butterfly should be Angel Bunny but considering Fluttershy's cutie mark it works.
And then Twilight got a Cat. A cat? Why not something that makes more sense? Like...I dunno? AN OWL. Seriously! That would have worked well because we just SAW AN EPISODE WITH THE OWL! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN TWI WITH A CAT! I mean come on Hasbro, at least watch the show before making toys.

Well, realize it takes roughly a year to take plastic toys from design to sales. They had no idea how successful the show would be, they just designed whatever they felt like.
If they care about matching the toys to the show, those will be starting to come out maybe... around Christmas?

I can actually believe that Twilight would wear a big awkward helmet like that when riding. The safety section of the scooter's manual surely advises it, and you know Twilight would both read and take the advice of her scooter's manual.

I think these would be better as CMC toys. Like Scootaloo comes with her scooter and Apple Bloom and Sweetie come in a set with the wagon so you can attach them?
And when the heck are we getting more sculpted ponies? I bought the mega ultra Celestia set with the story book and Pinkie, AJ, Twi, and Spike. I was hoping they'd release a sister set with sculpted Nightmare Moon (and Luna!), Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy and Angel Bunny. I'd just be happy with a Luna really... GET ON IT HASBRO.

TWO WORDS: Superman Jetpack. This is the same as the early 2000's Justice League Unlimited action figures, which included a Superman with a jetpack and missile launcher. Why the HELL does SUPERMAN need a goddamned jetpack? What are the marketing people doing that they can't spend 26 minutes of their life to watch a single episode? I mean if they can't stand cartoons, they should go back to selling crack or flipping burgers or whatever job doesn't involve giving a crap about doing a good job.

Best toy suggestion I've seen so far (which they'll never make) is Pinkie Pie's Rock Farm Playset.
I'm sure at some point some 3 digit IQ having person said "Why don't we market the Cutie Mark Crusaders?" but then after a while they realized kid's would be all "Cute Mark Crusaders Gas Oven Testers!" "Cute Mark Crusaders Electricians!" "Cute Mark Crusaders Nostril Doctors!" etc. XD
Boy, everypony sure hates these Scooters. I for one, being an MLP FiM Toy Completist, find nothing wrong with this decision, it's the same thing when you collect Transformers or G I Joe. (Have you seen how many Duke and Snake-Eyes are out there?)
All of these accessories look like upsized Ponyville accessories, that Butterfly also looks like one. Hasbro established the toyline first, the show comes second. Cartoon Accurate Ponies or more characters from the background are just going to be few and far between with all these re-packs of the Mane Six.

The poor plastic ponies and playsets Hasbro peddles put-off potential purchases. If they produce prettier and more precise ponies, I'll purchase plenty and play pretend in Ponyville.

@Anonymous Maybe little boys aren't too picky about their toys, but little girls are. When I was a kid, I wanted all my toys to be accurate to cannon.
That's why I never bought a single Harry Potter toy, despite being a huge fan. I could make stuff myself that was more authentic. Harry Potter would NEVER ride around on a broom that said his own name on it, WTF? ARHG.
I wish ONE toy franchise would get this right: kids want stuff that either a) accurately represents the cannon universe, or b) allows them to insert themselves into the cannon universe as an original character, without defying any of the laws, traditions, customs, concepts set up by cannon. AKA: Kids would want accessories that fit in with stuff from the show, even if we'd never seen them... or they'd want show-accurate characters and accessories.
...if you took the helmet, scarf, and maybe the kneepads... it'd look like an action hero. ... With a bit of work, HENSHIN A-GO-GO, BABY!
My kid would love these toys because she likes animals. I'll probably buy one for her.
