That is just crazy. This website has been clicked on four million times in total, in under six months.
I know everypony says this every time the blog reaches a major milestone, but it's frankly pretty incredible that this kind of attention is being generated for these candy ponies. And I'm glad to be a part of it. This is a wonderful community, and I hope that it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I, for one, will do my part to make sure it stays healthy during the summer break of no pony. I hope you'll join me- we have a few events lined up as of right now, and there will be more on the way.
Anyway, I know Seth probably has a news post or something planned out in his head, but he's asleep right now, so I figured I'd toss my two cents in before he buries this in shipping or something.
Speaking of cents, I did the math- four million pennies would span 76.2 kilometers if laid end to end.

I would imagine this blog will transition to a rumors site until S2 hits.
I don't think the summer break will be that bad. Sure there wont be any new canon OC for inspiration. But the art and fanfic bronies still in school will have a lot more free time on their hands to produce with.
I for one am looking forward to a whole new crop of strange and original summer fanfics
Nice, we hit 4 million quicker than we hit the 3 million mark! It took us two weeks to get to 3 million from 2 million (April 6-April 20) and only 11 days (April 20-May 1) to get from 3 million to 4 million.

We'll do fine, I'm sure. It might take slightly more organization and event-based stuff than it has in these halcyon days of Pony, but it's really difficult to envision a creative community of this strength just suddenly drying up because new episodes aren't coming down the pipe every week.
Me, I've got several projects lined up that should keep me pretty buried in ponies through the hot hot summer, and I'm always looking for more. Keep me in the loop?

Not to mention the pony games that are in development should be able to make significant progress over the summer. Plus there will always be more pony mash-ups for movies, songs, and games to look forward too.
Things will die down a bit, happens during the hiatus of any show, but it shouldn't be all that bad. Plus with people having more time during the summer maybe we can get some more people to check out the show and gain more fans during that time.

Sweet Celestia, I'm fairly certain it hit 1,000,000 around the time I found the show, so that's be mid to late February. That means that in about 2 1/2 months, we've gotten 3,000,000 hits.

Holy crap. This is officially the fastest growing fandom ever.
Hasbro as this point needs to stop ignoring this untapped audience. If there is one thing they can do aside from the Transformers movie coming this summer, then can at least plan something for the MLP community and go with it within before season 2.
I'd love to see a graph of hits to EqD. I remember all the milestones from 1 million onwards, and it seems they come faster every time.

2,000,000 hits about 3 weeks later...
3,000,000 hits 2 weeks later...
4,000,000 hits 10 days later...
At this rate, we'll hit five million before the end of the week, six million few days later, and seven million THE DAY RIGHT AFTER. We'll probably be celebrating 10,000,000 by month's end!

Anyway, the reason it ticks like that is that the timer's animation for a hit is slower than the actual hit rate. If you refresh the page, it jumps suddenly, because the timer wasn't able to keep pace.

Traffic will likely drop a good bit after the next weeks season finale flood dies down so sadly I don't think that's a very realistic expectation.

Holy shit this is crazy. I remember back when the page count was only in the 10s of thousands, and now its four million. I mean just look at the counter it goes 2 pageviews every second. If we kept up that rate we would have 5 million in a little less than 6 days
