Just so the paranoid among us don't freak out. Hub is the broadcaster not the producers. Hasbro has final say about content and they're still pretty tight-liped about acknowledging us. Though Hasbro owns hub, hub is allowed to create its own ads. (Think about the logistical nightmare if every company Hasbro ever owned had to always go through Hasbro for everything they ever did.)
It's unlikely, especially considering that season 2 is already written, that the show will drown in fan service for season 2.

This is unbelievable. And amazing! My respect for the Hub leapt up like crazy.
Though I also agree with RobotPony and T. O. Brony. Nothing good will come if creators get too incestuous with their fanbase, like if referencing starts having an effect on the storylines or such. But I'm confident that the writers will continue to do their (awesome) thing and won't get too desperate to please us. Fun stuff like this is neat though.
That video is really well made. But I am also afraid that this can be potentially damaging to the show, if they cater more to the fandom. Quite a few shows went under because of the fanservice.
I like this community alot but it needs to be more seperate from any design processes going into the show. Thats why this cartoon is so popular, it does its thing very well and doesn`t care what others say.
That said I don`t acknowled DJ-PON3 as a canon name and if this name as well the name Derpy Hooves get into the show, I will lose some respect for them. And damn the people, who would like to have those name in!

There's a huge difference between a couple of references in a promo and actually affecting the show as a whole. Promos like this are typically done in-network, and not by the production house that creates the show itself.
So everyone worrying that this is the start of some sort of horrible dark age because they threw in a couple of in-jokes need to chill a little.

Either way, to bad there probably won't be a song parody for each of the girls, but this is awesome enough to more than make up for it.
The only bad thing about this is that now I've got an earworm that will be with me all day.
The implications of this are astounding.
It's not just the show's creative producers that know about us anymore. We used to have nothing but minor contact with the creators, as well as our occasional Derpy sighting.
But now? Now, the managements knows about us. They have officially recognized us as viewers of this show. This can only mean one thing: more and more fanservice and catering to us. Not just the video, but the fact that they know about Equestria Daily means that they are very likely to be in contact with the very heart of the fandom.

You have to remember that this is still, first and foremost, a little kid's show. Actual in-show fanservice will most likely be nothing more than Derpy, the word "brony", and maybe some fan names being used. They would NEVER bring in fanon like lesbian Rainbow Dash and Molestia (they could very well make Trollestia canon, but that would actually work for her character, as we've already seen) or stuff like Cupcakes.
This show is not anime aimed at older men who are the target audience. This is still a kid's show, and they are not going to change anything or add anything so drastic to change that. The most they can do is give little nods to us now and then as well as informing the fandom about stuff, exactly like this video.
