There's a hidden message for us. Us the bromunity. Think about it for a second. The morale of the story was to not build up too high expectations and forgetting the main reason you went in the first place (to be with your friends)
What Lauren is trying to tell us is not to put too much weight and worth into this one last "milestone" episode that marks the end of season 1. But instead we should remember the good times. All the things we've accomplished so far and the massive potential we have to achieve even greater things in the future. She's basicly telling us to STICK TOGETHER untill season 2.
Just watch it one more time if you're not following. When it sinks in. Your mind will be blown and your motivation will be set ablaze.
That is all dear bronies. hope to see you all soon.
@Anonymous Waiting for my birthday party that was never-to-be. -Snuggles a darkrai plushie, manely because a thousand years of dust is bad for anypony-
For the entire episode, I watched out for Rarity. I can't believe the Prince didn't treat her well! Which gives me an idea for a fan fiction... But poor Fluttershy. She didn't use The Stare on those creatures?
@Anonymous If you think about it that seems to be how real friendships work. Good friends help bring out the best in us and avoid our flaws. When friends are apart there might not be anyone to help keep our flaws from getting the better of ourselves.

@Mirakei - Lord of the hems I could not agree more, Mirakei! This community has such an amazing potential to grow and adapt, and the summer hiatus should be viewed as nothing more than a challenge, and a chance to really spread our wings, become 20% cooler, if you will. We have a chance to expand the boundaries of the fandom, delve deeply into the fanfics and fanart that makes this community what it is. By the end, we can bring more bronies into the fold, have watch parties, moar contests and write offs and explore deeply the wonderful world of equestria! For my part, I'm not going anywhere! I'll be here all summer, and I'll be spreading the good word of tolerance and love till my eyes derp. Thank you all for a wonderful season, and I look forward to tomorrow!
P.S. I really do think that the brony speech ought to have its own post, it really is an amazing watch!
Well I have just finished seeing this and I must say I was very pleased. Fluttershy angry looking for animal friends to love her was priceless. The song was good and all. I love when Rarity breaks her own glass shoe thing so the prince wont find her XD! Good episode over all only down side is the seven months I am going to have to go through with out any ponies!
@Anonymous Exactly how I feel! Besides, we're already seeing the community planning events for the summer.
Watch parties for the summer would definitely be great. I think other big places like the NeoGaf MLP community are thinking about doing something like that.
Plus more people are getting introduced to the show all the time and as that happens we will see fresh faces and get fresh ideas for new content! So make sure to continue spreading the word about the first season everyone!
@Anonymous It's just another incarnation appearing at the time. I really do find it odd how little they've only played-off the possibility of a paradox with two Doctors at one time. They had the special in recent years, but other than two Tenants at the end of the fourth season, nothing.
I mean, the episode 'Rose', they show JUST the ninth Doctor as having appeared through out time, but you never see two regenerations appear in any form at different moments in the same year, like 9th showing-up in April 2k, 11th showing-up May 2k.
I know he tries to avoid crossing time with himself and when/where he's been before, but avoiding two-three years seems a bit far. But the only way it seems even remotely as having happened was when he reunited with Sarah Jane. Then again, it was some span of time between when she last saw him and when she saw him again.
Morals I've learned from this episode: 1. The reality will always fall short of your expectations, leaving you depressed and miserable. 2. If you're from a lesser social status, you can forget about associating with the 'elite.' 3. Trolling national banquets: Awesomesauce
Also, Crazy-Fluttershy is best Fluttershy. All I gotta say now is: Thank God for the Bronie Community. Fanfics and artwork will keep me till the next season.
Its that time... The time we've all been dreading... Our little pony friends are going to leave us... I am going to miss them. I know the fandom will suffer a LOT through this. Many a great brony will probably leave. I may not be one of those greats, but I am going to stand strong. I promise to do my best, to both keep the troops entertained through this great gap, and to enthusiastically await season 2's release. And as for those of you who won't survive through the gap...
1) Trollestia is now canon. 2) Every mane character, including Spike, has now completely lost their shit at least once. 3) This ep was actually kind of sad. I felt really bad for Fluttershy and Applejack.
BEST SEASON 1 EPISODE, no doubt about it. Though 3 things could have been improved, I would have liked more spike AND twilight screentime(at least with sparkle something other than she just standing there doing nothing) and I didn't really care for the ending(last minute). I especially liked pinkie's PAAAAARRRTAY! song and Fluttershy's out of character ... character.
New Doctor Whoof. Looks like Peter Davison (5th Doctor) Love crazy Fluttershy So now every pony in this town is crazy. Let the Dash x Wonderbolts, Fluttershy x the gardener, and Pony Joe x everypony shipping begin. x()~ Seriously, I need fanfic for pony fix NOW!!!!
I like that the mane cast is pretty much faced against exaggerated forms of their own personality flaws.
-Twilight has to deal with highly business like ponies who are punctual about formality. -Rarity has to deal with the stuck-up and fussy Prince Blueblood. -Fluttershy has to deal with overly shy animals. -Rainbow Dash has to deal with ponies who are attention needy as well as loud and obnoxious. -Applejack has to deal with ponies who won't eat her food out of pride. -And Pinkie Pie has to deal with ponies who are insistent that everyone should party their way, not even listening to suggestion.
No wonder some of the cast go completely against their characters by the end, it's like looking at a gigantic mirror!
Fluttershy, I found, worked perfectly for going crazy. She's not used to having animals sprinting away from her, and it's kind of the trait she's built her entire identity around. I imagine we'd see something similar if, say, Twilight suddenly found she had to strain herself to move a book, or if Pinkie thought everypony hated her part- oh. Not only that, but her aggressive craziness fits in with the two other times she's revealed a surprising talent for hostility. Give it a bit of crazy on top, and we've got the best evil laugh I've heard in a while.
Personal favorite moment from the episode though: "Rarity! You left a glass slipper behind! Now your prince will definitely find you!" "Aaaaah!" *smashes shoe.
Things I've learned: 1.Celestia deffinately is a master of the Xanathos Gambit.
2.Prince Blueblood takes his lessons of chivalry from Peter Griffen.
3.Mr. Ingram and Ms. Faust should be very proud of themselves. As should the rest of the staff.
4.We must all love Fluttershy or suffer her wrath.
5.It is possible to get drunk off of donuts.(hey it beats the tiredly used milkshakes gag)
"I don't have a word better than awesome, so I'll just say awesome again, only this time, louder. Awesome!!!" -Rat King
My thoughts on why Luna's not there. Her big sis has stashed her in a secret room where she can enjoy the nights mayhem in luxury while sitting back and eating popcorn.
Looks like I'll be spending the next 7 months reading fanfics, playing through my long overdue list of videogames, getting caught-up on the last 3 yrs worth of anime and tv dramas and pondering how to make the Hasbro equivalent of Super Robot Wars or Smash Bros.
Ok... I have no idea what people are talking about when they say they liked the episode. I thought it was by far the worst episode of the season. It felt horribly rushed, the dialogue was amature and cringe worthy. The songs were unforgivably atrocious, especially the hokey pokey bs. It felt like person who wrote the episode simply read like a short synopsis of the characters before getting to work. Not to mention that it was completely devoid of humor besides Rarity crushing her slipper. In addition, it felt like all of the events were so arbitrary and unconvincing. This is made worse by the fact that its the SEASON FINALE so its supposed to be awesome. I dunno, maybe it was just me. Oh well I guess they had to balance out "Party of One"'s awesomeness.
Well, a couple of people have already been doing something mildly comparable over at Epicsplosion.
http://www.epicsplosion.com/epicsploitation/199
Although, to be fair, this has been going on for weeks, and is pretty tame compared to what I have heard about "Cupcakes". I suspect that is all going to change soon ...
BTW, apart from animals avoiding her, what else is most likely to push Fluttershy's Crazy Buttons?
Animal cruelty, of course.
I could imagine Flutters as a sort of Dexter Morgan type figure, dishing out punishment to those who lack the element of kindness >;-)
@ultra8 I was out of Canterlot for the whole day. The fireworks, I though it was a shooting star. No pony here even mentioned the Gala. SIS never mentioned it.
Canon is essentially 'as in the show/comic/book' For example Twilight being Celestia's student is canon
Opposite this is Fanon 'Made up by fans but so common it often gets mixed up' For example before the showing of 'Feeling Pinkie Keen' Derpy being a mail pony or even her name before the sketch auction
It's clear that opinions on the episode itself are varied, as tends to be the case with spectacles, finales or other big events of any kind. However, the thing that we need to take away from this is not the relative quality of the episode itself, but rather that on the whole, the Brony community has found something wonderful to share in (the series itself), that has had an ultimately positive impact on the lives of all involved, and we need to maintain that positive community for all of those who have yet to discover their place in the herd. Love for all!
I just saw it. I am proud to say. That I absolutely loved this episode. Since I'm so damn obsessive over music, I would have to mention that the first song was absolutely amazing. I absolutely need to get a download of that.
@Naxtsyou're most welcome. I have dl links of all the pony songs with their corresponding videos. If you don't have some. I might do an MP3 of the Pony Pokey too if anypony wants that.
Okay I personally think that Crazy Fluttershy is more terrifying then Crazy Pinky was.......I looked like Fluttershy was going to rip someones face off.
Oh good grief... Celestia sent out Twilight's initial invitation without thinking, just "Okay, this pony's on my list, send out two tickets so she can bring a date..."
Then the return letter gets sent, and Celestia realizes "OSHI- those friends she's talking about are the Elements of Harmony. They're sure to have powerful enough personalities to wreck the sense of dreary nobility around here! I GOTTA invite them all! There isn't NEAR enough stuff for them to break here for it not to be worth it!"
I share your feeling about the chapter being rushed, but it was GOLD. I don't feel bad for one bit.
Perhaps the initial song could have been more short and the time could've been used to a more useful plot development, but it was Disneyesque that I swear I felt I was watching a movie and not a 22 minute episode. Of course it had a high price, and now the only memorable thing will be RD's solo...
For the rest of the episode, yeah, I knew something was going to go awry... OH BOY I WAS RIGHT. We all saw it coming and it was hilarious. Even when Pinkie lashed out the cacophony and I was cringing I was grinning. And I was expecting Rarity to finally snap and ditch that prince, but I wasn't expecting Crazyshy until next season!
Wow...
Ok, it's official. Each mane pony has snapped at least once. Scary stuff, but I saw the darkness that peaks from time to time in Fluttershy's eyes since The Staremaster.
And Trollestia is an S tier Troll,, 'nuff said. And Spike getting drunk on donuts. Even with the stereotype bartender line "that's enough" it was still funny, lol.
I don't think it was OOC. If you'd know me you'd say I wouldn't even be able to break a vase (yeah, I know :3). But when I rage I tend to rage QUITE hard. My family would agree that it's scary.
I say that what we saw was Fluttershy going Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, she has pushed so much to her unconscious in an attempt to be wholly and completely good and to control, for example, the stare. Sometimes things get to her, like when she was babysitting the CMC, and her control slips and she snaps. Severity may vary.
TL;DR Ponyville needs more psychiatrists. All the ponies in this town are CRAZY!
Awesome episode! Was waiting for the 720p vids on youtube as I missed the live stream. Loved every bit of it, despite having to wince ever so often at the ponies' antics...
Time to rewatch the entire series! Over and over again!
I am very confident in saying I did not like this episode very much. I laughed at some parts here and there but by the end I felt it definitely needed more development.
The snapping of Fluttershy was frightening but not entertaining, since the development of the madness of it was too short and by the end was The end just gave me a message of "It's alright to act inappropriately not care who's effected by the error of your ways" and "When in a new and uncomfortable environment, you don't have to accustom to it, abide by the rules, or just leave and hang out somewhere else; No, you can be publicly obtrusive and cause distraught to the fellow attendees who do so as long as you don't like the feeling of the place and it's funny to you in the end." This is the worst episode so far to me.
Now because of that episode I'm going to have to say all summer PONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONESPONES
When Daniel Ingram was interviewed back in March he said that his favorite song in the season was an epic piece with solos for each of the mane cast that (at the time of the interview) had not aired yet. I guess we know what song he was talking about now.

where the fuck was Luna?

ReplyDeleteI think thats a big stretch. Soren [sic] is probably more likely a play on "soaring" than anything else.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Sethisto, the time you put in here is appreciated.
Guess I need to go watch Trollestia's Finest Hour now.
guess its official all the ponies lost their minds by the end of the season
ReplyDeleteam still confused though how is celestia a troll?
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice we have a new My Little Timelord? So, did Dr. Whooves regenerate again or have we found The Master Pony?

ReplyDelete@Anonymous Replace the bow tie with a neck tie, and he's much closer. To bad Saxon-Master always wore dark/black suits.
ReplyDeleteRARITY & FLUTTERSHY RULED THE SHOW!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteWAAAAHHH!!!!!!!! we want season2!!!!!!
Morals I've learned from this episode:
ReplyDelete1. The reality will always fall short of your expectations, leaving you depressed and miserable.
2. If you're from a lesser social status, you can forget about associating with the 'elite.'

ReplyDeleteHoly Motherfucking Shit.
That just blew my mind.
I was kind of disappointed in the episode ending as well. And that just makes perfect sense.
Renewed Faith in Ponydom :D
The Gala was a bit "Meh," IMO. I guess my expectations were a bit on the high side.
ReplyDeleteHere's to Hasbro giving Faust and the rest of the folks working on the show a bit more contol of the series next season.
I might not get the TV channel but I can support the show by snagging a copy of the DVD. I hope the season is released in a set and not in volumes.
I love fluttershy so much, especially now that i no longer have a choice
ReplyDeleteAWESOME FINALE!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh man a Equestria LOVE ME banner would be awesome
ReplyDelete...I would rather the show's (quite valid) moral had limited itself to the main six while leaving me, the viewer, out of it.
ReplyDeleteThat is all I have to say about this episode. ;_;

ReplyDelete1) Trollestia is now canon.

3) This ep was actually kind of sad. I felt really bad for Fluttershy and Applejack.

ReplyDeleteNah, not the best. The best was LAST week. :D This one wasn't bad, but it really needed another episode to cram everything in.

@ultra8 I was out of Canterlot for the whole day. The fireworks, I though it was a shooting star. No pony here even mentioned the Gala. SIS never mentioned it.

ReplyDeleteMore like ... Trollestia tier!

ReplyDeleteCanon is essentially 'as in the show/comic/book'
For example Twilight being Celestia's student is canon
Opposite this is Fanon 'Made up by fans but so common it often gets mixed up'
For example before the showing of 'Feeling Pinkie Keen' Derpy being a mail pony or even her name before the sketch auction
Two hooves way up for slaughtershy probably oneof my favorite moments now.

ReplyDeleteYes, but is an avi instead of a mkv and the quality is a bit lower than the others.
ReplyDeleteI need comics and FAST to survive this pony drought D:
ReplyDeleteHow about a fan made episode? Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteIt's clear that opinions on the episode itself are varied, as tends to be the case with spectacles, finales or other big events of any kind.
ReplyDeleteP.S. <3 Nuttershy XD
I just saw it. I am proud to say. That I absolutely loved this episode. Since I'm so damn obsessive over music, I would have to mention that the first song was absolutely amazing. I absolutely need to get a download of that.
ReplyDeleteDid anybody see Derpy in this episode?
Also. Did anybody else get some serious lord of the rings notions at Fluttershy?
ReplyDeleteThe est episode ever!

ReplyDelete@UFu
ReplyDeleteAn insane asylum...based on those at the late 1800s, early 1900s. Electroshock ftw.
@Naxtsyou're most welcome. I have dl links of all the pony songs with their corresponding videos. If you don't have some. I might do an MP3 of the Pony Pokey too if anypony wants that.
ReplyDeleteDERPY SPOTTED ON DASH'S 6!
ReplyDeleteShe's not derped till her 'This isn't hanging-out' line, though.
@Koyomi
ReplyDeleteSomeone get Seth to update the post, this is a much better upload than the current one.
fuck yeah! My video is on the article!
ReplyDeleteTrollestia, master of the Batman Gambit.
ReplyDeleteDerpy gets into some of the oddest places... especially when you see she's been hanging with wonder bolts.
ReplyDeleteOkay I personally think that Crazy Fluttershy is more terrifying then Crazy Pinky was.......I looked like Fluttershy was going to rip someones face off.
ReplyDeleteOh good grief... Celestia sent out Twilight's initial invitation without thinking, just "Okay, this pony's on my list, send out two tickets so she can bring a date..."
ReplyDeleteThen the return letter gets sent, and Celestia realizes "OSHI- those friends she's talking about are the Elements of Harmony.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the initial song could have been more short and the time could've been used to a more useful plot development, but it was Disneyesque that I swear I felt I was watching a movie and not a 22 minute episode.
I heart this episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had time machine LOL
ReplyDeletei hope that when they release season 1 on DVD/BR they include an extended version of this episode.
ReplyDeleteFluttershy was...a bit much.
ReplyDeleteI understand what they were going for, but that level of psychotic rage is just straight-up out of character.
P. Celestia: ...Run...
ReplyDeleteI don't think it was OOC. If you'd know me you'd say I wouldn't even be able to break a vase (yeah, I know :3). But when I rage I tend to rage QUITE hard. My family would agree that it's scary.
ReplyDeleteI say that what we saw was Fluttershy going Dr.
ReplyDeleteTime to rewatch the entire series! Over and over again!

Did anyone else notice Face Implosion's reaction to Rarity appearing for help?

ReplyDeleteThis was a really good episode, a little dry in the middle but it quickly got better.

ReplyDeleteMy 5 min contribution. I really need to reinstall Photoshop.
I am very confident in saying I did not like this episode very much. I laughed at some parts here and there but by the end I felt it definitely needed more development.
ReplyDeleteThe snapping of Fluttershy was frightening but not entertaining, since the development of the madness of it was too short and by the end was
The end just gave me a message of
"It's alright to act inappropriately not care who's effected by the error of your ways"
and
"When in a new and uncomfortable environment, you don't have to accustom to it, abide by the rules, or just leave and hang out somewhere else; No, you can be publicly obtrusive and cause distraught to the fellow attendees who do so as long as you don't like the feeling of the place and it's funny to you in the end."
This is the worst episode so far to me.

ReplyDeleteВам не нужно быть таким формальным, наш брат.
When Daniel Ingram was interviewed back in March he said that his favorite song in the season was an epic piece with solos for each of the mane cast that (at the time of the interview) had not aired yet. I guess we know what song he was talking about now.
