Actually, I just find Twilight to be very relatable is all.:) I work in an Alzheimer's Disease lab and have to report to a mentor each week with my own sort of progress report. I simply find it wonderful to see a character in cartoons today that is curious and ambitious to discover more about the world around them (even if she does have her flaws).
I'm glad to see all the love she has been getting in the auction and if I do win her she is certainly paying a visit to the lab. At the end of the day it would be nice to have her there to spread some cheerfulness.
I almost feel that some of the people who wanted to buy some of the other sketches and were out-bid have moved to this one as a last chance, and thus are willing to plop down more bits.
In any case, its going to be one great donation for Japan.

I am unhappy that my 5500 bid didn't win, but I am happy that 5600 is going towards Japan.
On the one hand, I kinda regret not upping my bid on Derpy.
On the other hand, I'd only end up regretting spending so much (even in a good cause).
