I enjoyed this! It's so funny that hetero shipping is so rare that we get worked up when it happens, but, oh well, such is this fandom. And awkward Twilight is always adorable!

Awww this is precious. And rare, as a straight ship. Wow!
I really don't want to be that guy here, but this was poorly executed. not trying to be mean, not trying to be cruel, but I literally had to read the last 2 parts 3 times just to figure out what exactly was going on. The narrative was hard to follow and non descriptive, and the whole thing felt like the characters were more puppets than ponies.
I don't want to be mean I really don't, but I honestly can't say this fic is even completed.

This is a very cute fic. The only problem I had with it was this:
"You know Princess Luna? Personally?"
"...Can I count on you to keep it a secret? Having the ears of the rulers can make a pony's social life complicated."
So... Celestia's been keeping that My Precious Student thing on the down-low or something? Everyone seems to be perfectly aware that Twi has a personal connection to the sun goddess; I don't think knowing Luna would really add anything extra to that.
Eh, maybe it's just fridge logic, but that exchange hit me strangely.
Duplex Fields here. Thanks for the feedback. This was posted live in-thread one evening when I asked for a suggestion on what to write. It's more of a vignette than a full story. I'll see if it turns into anything beyond this.
The big innovation was having Caramel as a smith's assistant rather than a farmer; I figured a year-round farmer wouldn't lose seeds that often.

Also, I didn't have any trouble following what was happening in parts 2 and 3, but I can see where some people might.
All around, a very nice short fic.
