I think the Owl's name was supposed to be Aloysius.
Heck, i thought it was Owlicious too, but i -always- though it sounded odd how they pronounced it, and it took someone being a jerk and making fun of me for thinking it was Owlicious to think about it :P
I had never heard the name before, but Aloysius was apparently snuffleupagus' first name (yeah, i was never a huge Sesame Street watcher anyway) and was also James Joyce's confirmation name, which is awesome, and considering Twilight named it, i wouldn't be particularly surprised if somepony wrote Portrait of the Artist as a Young Colt.
Angel is a complete dick, but he's also the only one so far to get major screen time. Winona and Opal have been in a few episodes, but only very briefly
