Haven't watched the videos - nor do I intend to, due to a greater concern for my schoolwork - but I must vehemently disagree with the posited notion that Rarity is somehow INFERIOR to Dash and Twilight~!
...because, the way I see them, Twilight = Dash = Rarity. That's my top three, that is. The other three main ponies are also awesome, mind you. (I'm not ranking -them- so's not to incite a "worst" pony discussion. Blaaah~)
I don't understand how anybody could dislike any of the ponies. For me, Rainbow Dash is #1, and the other 5 are all tied for second. But I love them all!
I'm starting to regret having said what I said about Rarity. Brony wrath hath smoten me! It's not that we "dislike" her, per se, just that she's not quite as high on our list as everyone else.

hmm, I sadly couldnt access the internet on poniday (otherwise known as friday) so I come on here on TheDayAfterPoniday and see all this... updates to my fav fanfics, new episode (of course), and now commentary.
Several downloads later, and I know what I'm going to do today. This fandom is amazing. And on the subject of the commentary, so glad you guys are doing this, love hearing from others how wonderful the show is :D

In my opinion, all of the ponies are equal.
Fluttershy just happens to be more equal than the others.

I hope the dvd/blu-ray of the series, if it comes out (it better) will have official commentary, I'd love to hear the opinions and stuff of the creators of the show as well as these guys. But for now, these guys will do ;)

Yeah, I'll go with that. I'm starting to get pretty boosterish for Rarity though. Fluttershy's awesome but she gets recognition for being awesome, whereas Rarity is hilarious, has amazing voice acting, and is basically the best possible permutation of a fashion-obsessed clothes horse pony, and a lot of people seem to think she's a bit rubbish, or at least that she's the weakest of the mane six.
Even the way she says her own name is awesome.

Rarity is a walking cliche of everything stereotypical and annoying about girls. She has the least original personality. That whole "afraid to get her hooves dirty, can't afford to chip a hoof because she just got a manicure, scared of getting dirty, obsessed with how her hair looks" character has been done before.It has probably been done more than any other recycled character personality ever. Rarity is the least interesting, least original, and most predictable character on the show. Its mind boggling that people can't see how transparent and worthless a character she is.

Rarity is the one character that has developed the most and has brought the most to the show as far as humor goes. None of the mane characters are "worthless" in the least. Now please sit still for the Orbital Friendship Cannon.

It was a shared episode, same with Green Isn't Your Color, but Rarity grew the most and learned the biggest lesson more than Rainbow Dash, so I consider it a Rarity episode.
Yeah, the whole "dislike of 3rd best pony" thing has changed for us since we began, or at least for me it has. I've grown quite fond of her, although she still isn't quite at the top of my list. I should probably ask for that to be edited with the next update.
So yeah, love and tolerance isn't necessary, although it's still nice to receive, what with it being love and tolerance.

The only way Rarity would become nr.1 best pony is if they made a spy themed episode with her, and quit the fru-fru stuff,
kinda like Fluttershy...she starts off silent & shy as shit, then finally learns to talk more often, and then ultimately does any action a pony could be able to do, steal the princess's bird, lose your temper at shy-running animals...
Probably in the next season Rarity's Girly persona from generation 1-3.5 will dissapear completely
Rainbow Dash was the first pony to be the best due to she's the exact opposite of the outdated generations
Fluttershy is best cause it reminds people of how shy they were as kids
