I suppose that that is possible, go with what you like but I would like to think it has to due with Twilight falling into the bog and her face becomes scared by the swamp, and since her friends left her behind she turns on them.
This made me laugh so hard whenever Pinkie spoke...and yet it filled me with horror as how possible this setup could be. "So Pinkie with/without excess sugar becomes a psychotic genius? I think all food in Ponyville needs to have 20% more sugar in it now." best bit for was the "Hello beautiful" line and "This city deserves a better class of criminal." makes me wish so much the creator could have worked in the "FOREVER!" scenes, but I'm not complaining either way...that was AWESOME.
