And a quick how-to guide for Windows 7/Vista users
1. Download the .rar
2. Extract the .icl file
3. Toss it in your pony folder
4. Right click an icon on your desktop
5. Select Properties
6. Click the "shortcut" tab
7. Click "Change Icon"
8. Browse to your pony folder, select the .icl file
9. Choose Icon and Save As!

It's like any other desktop icon, you replace the current image they use with this.
Might prove useful. Though, to ask, what kinds of icons are there in it? A lot? Please tell. I don't feel like downloading them, I'd need to delete a lot of stuff from my pc then :P

Perfect! I wanted to replace the ugly folder icon on my pony folder with something. Yay!
My work pc has slowly (and subtly) been ponyfied, and I think these will make nice touches to the desktop.
This may be an unnecessary question and I may be overlooking something, but I have no clue how to download them, I looked though the entire DA page, but didn't see a download button.
OOO Now all my subfolders have the right picture on them. ME LIKE it. I would love if he could make more, like a luna and celestia one. If you make more i would love to download them.

So I managed to change my OS X pony folder icon from a generic folder icon to a generic file icon with "ICNS" on top. No luck making it look like Twilight Sparkle.
Wow, thanks for featuring these on the blog Sethisto. I didn't think to contribute this here, as I wasn't sure if they'd be that well received. Apparently they were, though, lol.
I'm preparing an update for them, actually. I've finished matching icons for Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle and finished some minor tweaks on the old ones.
@Anonymous: Try opening the .icns file in Preview, then copy one of the images there. Paste it over the generic file icon then. This worked for me.
My dA site's now been updated with the icons for the Crusaders, as well as Spike and Celestia.

Tried to change pony folder icon.
The properties say the Icon should be Pinkie, but still shows as a folder.
